Yes, I do not have the card, that is a fact. I do know, however, that the 8600gts, which is less than half the transistors on the exact same process took over 1.7v(IIRC, may have been more) to achieve 1+ ghz on air. How hot do you think a 700 million transistor part would get at anywhere near that voltage on air?

Therefore, while it may technically be speculation, it's going by other parts on the same process. Other parts that should theoretically clock higher due to a smaller transistor count.

In end, there's no need to roll your eyes.

Second, if you base your speculation on what 8600gts can do and call it common sense, we'll just have to disagree on what common sense is, there is much more to the whole picture.
