nice home made water block , im trying to do the same but i just cant find some copper plates. where did you get yours

Online metals, industrial metals, mcmaster carr, whatever online small quantity raw materials stores you can get from googling "copper plate". Usually the shortest they'll sell is 1 foot long. I think Petra's carries 2 inch square ones, but they might not anymore.

COoLBoX09 the piece copper I picked up was just from a local metal shop in Edmonton ...I paid $20 for a piece 1/4 x 4 x 6"....also if you want jig dimensions /pics let me know it might save you some time and headaches

sure if you can,but blocks are for a xbox 360 and they are going to be low profile

Finally found some time to make changes to the original block design..

pin count has increased from 38 to 54 and the copper base is much thinner now...overall I am getting 4c lower load temps even with the nb block that was just added

should I leave the nb block without any channels ? Ive seen that the swiftech mcw-nbmax doesnt have any...so maybe it doesnt improve cooling much ...let me know what you guys think, btw the mb is a rampage 2 extreme

Speaking of home-made (kinda) waterblocks... has anyone experimented with wire EDM lately? There were a few guys back in the ProCooling days who did some neat stuff with it.

Hondacity the channels are 2mm deep, Im not sure what you mean by stepping

jk I didnt want to approach him because I really didnt think the block was in the same league as hk or xt, now Im thinking otherwise
If I was to change the inlet to a central position maybe there would be some more improvement
I might give it a try this weekend and make a new acrylic top with some jet plates

everest is not good for stress, Skinnee recommends :
OCCT v3.1.0 with the Small Data Set setting.... if you can OC a 4.200MHz ?

I thought that linx stresses cpu more than occt but I might be wrong

You should let Linx to go for, at least, 30 minutes. This way the temperature of the hole system will stabilize and you will get max temps.

Amazing block bud. I do have what may be a dumb question that hasn't been asked. I am planning on making a P55 full coverage block, but where did you get the O rings for yours?

I picked up the o rings from a local store in Edmonton called Liquid seal

they stock any diameter you could possibly need

I will try to find their number so you can give them a call when you get going with your project

Just a little update ...Ive decided to go with the xt look

temps look better already, but before I do any testing Ill wait until the IC7 cures

That defnitely is the most complex home made base I have yet to see.
