If you remembered I had some problem with my EP45-UD3P, RMA it, they couldnīt fix it, got a new board, itīs working as it should, nice piece of machinery.
i've been running a few much more expensive ram kits on this board, both 2x1GB and 2x2GB,
they are running okay at DDR2000 but use too much vdimm and i don't like to running high vdimm all the time.
i thought i try somethin a little different, and got this crucial value kits, it came to my surprise that this D9JNM based DDR3 works quite good with the board. i still have a crucial ballistix 2x1GB PC3-16000 2.0v kit coming to me next week or so and i still doubting it that it will overclock well and with a low vdimm like i have with this crucial value ram.
anyway, i'm glad to know you got the new board and it works great now.

Anyone have some kind of instruction on how to set the cpu and mch reference values in bios? Everytime i change the value from auto to something else, the computer won't boot.

It seem like 45nm (both dual and quad) like CPU ref at ~0,760 and dual seems to like ~0,700 for MCH ref and quad ~0,840 for MCH ref, this value is when CPU Term is at 1,20.

Have not test 65nm so much so Iīm not sure what works for them.

    Great

Right now I do run my Q9650 but soon I gonna swoop it for my E8400 and try to reach 600 so in the meantime you can fine tune the setup for 575+ and share with me and others.

    Please Help me Optimize my O/C... UD3P & E8500

    Hello,

I am currently sitting at 4Ghz (finally)

    BIOS F9
    E8500 E0 stepping
    GA-EP45-UD3P rev 1.0
    G. Skill 8800 @ 1130MHz 1.9V

Below is my template. I think I can do better with the volts on the motherboard, but since I am finally stable I am a little hesitant to do random changes.

My temps are OK, looking at mid to upper 30's during idle and I get right around 65ish deg during prime95 small FFTs. I saw as high as 74deg during intel's burn in test.

Please help me optimize my O/C.

    Thanks,
    J

i have a gigabyte ep45-ud3p board with q9400 and gskill 8500 ram with the following settings
I managed to get it 490 stable in prime for 24hrs at the following settings
    - mch core is a bit high, but i tried upping vcore and vtt and lowering mch core, but that didnt work

now, i want to try to get get 500mhz.
    - any setting i do at 500, it freezes
    - i've tried upping everything except mhc core
    - i've also played around the skews but that makes everything unstable

    any ideas for 500mhz?

I have 2 x 2gb ocz hpc reaper pc8500 and i am having a hell time gettin this board to run @ 4ghz with decent memory timings and voltages . My only stable config was the default settings. I am now testing @ 4ghz with 8.5 x475 fsb, ram settings standard, xmp disabled, 400 strap, ratio 2.00d, ram settings manual @ 5-5-5-15 2.14v, pl9, llc enabled, cpu @ 1.2500, vtt 1.24, vmch 1.28v, every ref up 1 notch, case closed, room temp 23C, eist and c1e enabled cause i don't like to run a 4ghz cpu while browsing websites.
I guess those settings dont work in bios f9 anymore, and i hoped it will be better than f8, i guess i was wrong, i am now @ 1.34v vmch in bios and still not stable . Dont know what to do anymore cause orthos is failing with round error after 6 minutes or even quicker.
That's the stupidest thingh ever, the bios update not only erased my overclocking profiles, but also made my computer totally unstable@ the settings it was 24/7 rock solid before

ive tried that voltage already with no luck, within a few minutes at load, it freezes.
-any other ideas, i really think the chip has a lot more in it, but the board is stopping me, bc i got it to post at 525mzh fsb =4.25ghz, but it freezes while loading into vista- would that be a ram, motherboard or chip issue?

Right now I'm at 8x525 @ 1.40v in BIOS (LLC enabled). Would 8.5x500 be easier and less volts for vCore, VTT and MCH ??? Cuz I'm thinking of getting some KHX9200D2K2/2G (2x1GB, 1150 MHZ) and running 8.5x500 with mem at 1200 MHz. My ram in my sig just can't do that and I don't need 4gb on XP right now. Any ideas or suggestions? Thanks!
