GOT MY OPTY 148 WOot!@@

Well I got it today and the stepping is:

CABYE 0543 FPMW

I also, fixed my w/c loop so I am back up with my system in my sig. Problem is, I have finals and no time to test or even install my new opty for a week

. But I want to know, is this a good stepping. I know CABYE 0540 are really good, so how are the 0543's?

pop it in and find out! AFAIK, they're not as good as the week 40's...but i at least am still curious.

Mines is up and Running at 2915 MHz as we speak @ 1.44v so I would say they are Not BAD at all . I have the same stepping as you just installed it 2 days ago and i am prime testing everyday to see how high i can get it up too without to many Volts as the temps really climb on these 148's fast, mine is 37 c no load and load is up too 47c at these volts.

My CABYE 0540 FPBW runs at 3G... 36C idle 47C stressed.. It's a great chip..

Damn thats awesome, now I really cant wait lol! What cooling is that with elh4jj4j? I will be using water, but I havent installed it and I wont be able to till after this coming friday hehe....Im SOOOOOO Excited now. O yes, and I bought this opty from newegg retail.

Lol, now I am smiling like crazy! I had my fingers crossed I would get a stepping that did 3 max, now I really cant wait because Im on h20 and two of you are getting close or at 3.2!

This is perfect because if I can get 3.2 stable on water, then Ill be able to bench 1:1 with my awesome tccd that does 320FSB @ 2.5-4-3-7 2.8v!!! I bet this opty would have helped me break 21k with my stock cooled 7800gtx in 03!! But, Im glad I am back on water cause now I can put some serious volts through my gpu. And by the way, the gpu clock in my sig was only at 1.65V cause this core is an awesome clocker. I bet Ill get 700 with 1.75V.

Did 3gighz on 1.55vore. These opterons, they are doing great!

I have a question though, do you guys burn in for a little bit before you actually start oc'ing? I was just going to run OCCT for 30 mins after every 10mhz fsb increase

Call me insane...lol...but guess what? I got impatient and went ahead and popped the IHS off of my opty 148. It was my first time, but I went slow and it popped of with ease and absolutely no damage to any part of the proc. I was surprised by how heavy and thick the IHS's are though, I think it must be about 80 percent of the total weight of the chip. Now I have a cool key chain...hehe....and my impatience furthers because 2morrow I am going to install this baby and get to some clocking.

I'm on air with a Zalman 9500 using 300/10 @ 1.5v Temps go from 34/35 idle to 47 stressed..

These opties are FUN, Ok I finally got my Ram to go up too HTT 305 on my 148 @ 1.45 v im using a 180 Divider and droped down too 10 X , I wanted to see if I could get these EB's to go this high and WOW it worked its not prime Stable after 4 hours I got an error but I never thought i would get this thing too Boot this High. And I tested it for FPS on Aquamark and Scored 96099 on my Little 7800 GT i think thats a Good Score for a single card not in SLI. I will play with it some more this weekend and see what happens.
