Red face Prometeia Mach 1 Mod - WORKLOG

    Hi

That's won't be long begin . Situation is simple : one of benchtec's member ask me about modding his Prometeia Mach1 which he just bought, just to allow using it on newest CPUs - so need to hold big load and enclosure must be universal . Unit was near stock - side panels and front panel was resprayed in past to quite nice deep black color - nevertheless it'll be painted again (one side panel had had a dent, orginal that prommie was white) and it must have been regased in past . But seems like nobody clean dust from inside of unit throught its 7 years life (production date 2002 year) .

That is worklog and looks like updates won't be frequent because I have to make other unit first ...

    Specs :

Compressor: Danfoss NL11F - stock from prommie, will be coat with fresh black paint (was bit rusted)
Evap: Steeper 40mm tall/42 mm diam., enclosure for all newest CPUs, 1.0 meter braided DN10 suction line (with
    stainless steel mesh)

    XV: captube 0.9 mm
Condensor: one stock from mach1 + added second one same as orginal so total 2 condensors will be used
    Refrigerant : R507
Case : Stock Mach1 case with modded front panel and whole resprayed - skeleton powdercoated, side panels and
    front panel resprayed on black

Others: Some 120/38mm fans, probalby custom electric ...

Big plus for owner for good packing for it's journey to mine workshop .

Suction line is funny short and stiff in stock mach 1 .

A lot of dust, dirt and ...rust inside case.

That result surprise me a bit - seems like somewhere must have been tiny leak of someone tune is for VERY small load . Of course that's without any load . Before that I had thought those prommie is still on stock R134a LOL . Stock Carel display from mach1 show error under -50c .

I found this later and I was sure that's not stock crimp and braze .

A bunch of electric wires ...

I have no idea what is orginal idea to use those verticaly walls on each one air inlet "wave" - I think only to prevent too big airflow inside case LOL .

    Now much better .

    That's only premier coat.

I had tried to save orginal sticker on NL11F but no luck .

More to come ..but I don't know when .

    Regards
    Peter

Are you keeping the controller or removing in order to shift compressor back and add second condenser?

About orginal electric sysytem it's not decided till now - maybe I'll stay with orginal system with relays on back panel, or maybe I'll make new simply electric .

    Hi

MORE work has been done ... :

Mounting double condenser is stock prommie case is PITA I must say ..even mounting stock capacitor for NL11F is problem then .

Powder coated parts + custom made double condensor (2 * prommie's condensor - one orginal from this unit + one from mach 2ST) . It was leak tested before painting .

Even with this is a problem . Of course plastic case for electic stock from NL11F must have been removed to close the box .

    So it's mounted on condensor.

I decided that airflow generated by one stock sunon 120mm on condensor is too poor, so I decided to add one Tt Thunderblade (BTW very good fan- why it isn't produced any longer ? )

    Testing tomorrow.

    Regards
    Peter

    Hi

Thanks for all nice comments ! Really, am I so good ?

Final unloaded temperature in 22*C ambient temperature .

And that's on 260W dummyload after 2 hours of test .

That's packing made by owner of this unit (prommie came to me in this box), I only "mod" it a little to pack unit with longer suction line.

That's all about Prommie Mach 1 mod .

    Thanks
