Bah, we need a new generation cards, not two old cards joined with a SLI bridge.
HTPC - AMD Phenom II 555 Unlocked(4cores) - 4GB Gskill - AMD HD 5850 - Avermedia Duet - Harman Kardon avr247 - Surround Sound (Infinity Beta 50's, 10's, 360, and ed a2-300) - Samsung 46"
Desktop Powerhouse PC - Gathering dust due to high usage of HTPC as general pc now
Ya I know, theres a serious lack of innovation going on in Nvidia HQ these days..........Well execpt for adding an optical out
and some form of HDMI/Display Port
theres a little misspell in that article or am i totally wrong? below the last pic it says"7950GX2 quad sli setup" but the cards are deffo not 7950gx2s but rather the 9800gx2?
Old news.
Well at least $450 is a decent pricetag, which probably come from:
8800GT - $249
(+$100)
8800GTS - $349
(+$100)
9800GX2 - $449
I had guessed it could well have gotten a MSRP of $499 too since compared to a 8800GTS (G92) it looks a bit better bang for the buck card as the GTS is only barely faster than GT by roughly 15% or so, making it also barely faster than a 8800GTX usually but is at least 10% or a bit more slower than 8800 Ultra. Provided the 30% faster than 8800 Ultra claim is true it would be a good 40%+ faster than the GTS and 65%+ faster than a 8800GT which is a good thing even when comparing 8800GT SLI which would be slightly expensier too and taking into account GX2 is only "one card solution" (physically, as you don't really get 2 separated cards). That remains to be seen if the 30% over Ultra claim is actually true and I'm pretty sure it won't be true for every title.

welcome to the last week .... http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/...d.php?t=171860
Man, I don't know about anyone else but I am excited, i love the idea of the 9800gx2 especially in SLI. Yea next gen or not, if it's fast and not super expensive, then count me in..... Think i might just sell my 2 PNY 8800 GTS's 320 right now while they are at their peek to get me one when they come out.....

*** Being kind is sometimes better then being right.
Hard to blame them. If the competition just isn't there then its pretty bad business to rush new products out only to push your old ones out of the lime light. If I were nvidia I'd keep my R&D going at full steam but hold back innovative products until it someone else came along and beat my current product.
I beleive it's optical in for HDMI audio output.
I'm excited about this.
Does announcement day = release day? This card will be released right at the time of my stepup end.
i7 920 -- Gigabyte EX58-UD3R -- 3x2Gb G.Skill 1600 -- XFX GTX260 WD 150Gb Raptor / Hitachi 750Gb -- Antec Smartpower 500W -- Coolermaster 690 case
Display port is HORRIBLE, i mean 100% garbage crap. It is no better than HDMI, same garbage style connector to. We will just have another terrible useless digital video format infected with useless DRM. At least UDI supports a higher resolution.
Just to force you to get new hardware, what a scam. Nothing but a scam.
