Suction lines by piotres

Hello

Sometimes I make suction lines in various types and lenghts .

That's some of them - one CPU and two GPU lines - without insulation because client will do it by himself .

Evaporators are steepers, 42 mm diam.

Flex hose is 10mm ID, braided .

CPU evap, GPU is almost same, but shorter .

Two lines which I've made last time :













Currently I've made also new enclosure for 42mm evaporator which allow to use extra thick armaflex insulation around evaporator (but that isn't show on pictures).

You have done this very well, piotres! I suggest that you produce the GPU enclosures of plastic or similar, because metal is a very good heat conductor. Thereby you must better insulate.

@Godmod : that's just piece of cooper tube which I use to braze braiding to hose . It's bit too big diam (it's 22mm, 18 mm was too small ) , so I must clutch them a bit . That's why You can see that folds .

@Marru : Yes, they're .

@DagoDuck : I had had them made of plastic, but they had been too flexible .

You can always swage tubing that is slightly larger and shove lines under there How I have been doing mine lately.

Hello

Suction line for GPUs, 110 cm long braided DN10 stainless flex lines, 265 cm of 0.8 mm captube, 18 mm thick insulation, orange sleevings, K-probes, stainless mountings + backplates .

I hope You like them .



Some seconds after taking burner away .. .

Judging from his evap design, it doesn't look easily done without drilling out a passage in the block from the suction side to the location where the captube should discharge. Could always snake the cap-tube through the entire evap but then you really use up a lot of the volume better used for expanding gases. Beautiful linesets, well polished evaps.

Have you considered getting reducers or the like? I'd imagine those straight flanges must be a pain to insulate.

About captube inside suction : I'm afraid about not-nice sound which can make captube inside suction line when unit (eg. with rotary) will be making vibrations ... .

No, there isn't nitrogen inside . Evaps was purged with propane during brazing .

@ NoL : sorry I don't understand, sometimes mine english is poor . Can You say it in other way ?

To hold the braid, you seem to crimp a piece of pipe, why not cut the piece of pipe, and then tighten it, causing it to spiral instead of making that copper piece stick off.

In mine last suction lines I've cut that crimped part of tube after brazing and now I'll be making that in all braided suction lines .

Today 2 suction lines with CPU evaps , in both I've used braided DN10 flex hoses, 18 mm thick insulation, suction line sleeve, one line is with Kprobe and second without :

patient ? Cleaning and polishing of one evap take me 20-25 minutes .
