x38 bugged

i was reading this and i was just curious why anyone would want to buy a chipset that intel isnt comfortable with releasing thats why they are letting x48 so soon after i wonder what this bug really does for performance

LOL, that's the first you heard of it G H Z? X48 is exactly the same as X38, just supposedly higher binned/more clockable and of course a heftier price. I guess Intel figured if they could get 3x the price for the same silicon in a CPU by adding "Extreme" to the label and "X" to the model, the same would work for chipsets From what I've read, only Tier 1 manufacturers will even get a shot at them and judging from projected X38 board prices, Asus' X48 board should cost right around $500

The problem was seen with samples that were sent out as the bios did not allow upper multiples of what the es was capable of.

3rd party manufactures boards dont have this problem, its not really an issue anymore.

fake for me... so he knew the Vcore suddenly rose to incredible levels though didn't do anything about it, yeah right... and what is incredible high voltage ? 1.8 volts ? CPU isn't damaged so easily-, I haven't ruined one yet ( besides one athlon XP with it's sensitive core pfff )

Also why didn't that guy explain more, wich mobo he used, would have been more informative for all of us... then this bare sentence

I do. (in summer, here in Spain they are damn hot LOL)

But it isn´t a problem. Doing a simple vcore mod you can raise de vcore keeping EIST and C1E enabled to reduce frequency and voltage --> less heat and power comsumption like I do, it doesn´t kill de OC at all.

I am on DX38BT now and I run with EIST enabled and so? Its not a bad thing. I have noticed it lets my board run a lot cooler as well as the vapo is -51c near idle. Ice will form if the mount is not perfect.

Saving some power on my energy hog

I'm not sure, but there's a new stepping of BearlakeC that will be moving through soon, x48 might not be exactly the same.

Optimizations at least might help justify the extra expenditure if they don't wind up being substantially more OCable than X38. I personally am going to jump on X38 and then see exactly what X48 brings to the table. Thanks for the info.
