    I doubt they are related. Multitude of more plausible reasons to why the cpu died if one really died.

    I am on DX38BT now and I run with EIST enabled and so? Its not a bad thing. I have noticed it lets my board run a lot cooler as well as the vapo is -51c near idle. Ice will form if the mount is not perfect.

    From where did you order? We need to get a thread going that lists etailers stocking supply of X38 motherboards

    BX2 runs rather nicely with EIST enabled as well.
