LOL, that's the first you heard of it G H Z? X48 is exactly the same as X38, just supposedly higher binned/more clockable and of course a heftier price. I guess Intel figured if they could get 3x the price for the same silicon in a CPU by adding "Extreme" to the label and "X" to the model, the same would work for chipsetsFrom what I've read, only Tier 1 manufacturers will even get a shot at them and judging from projected X38 board prices, Asus' X48 board should cost right around $500

I do. (in summer, here in Spain they are damn hot LOL)
But it isn´t a problem. Doing a simple vcore mod you can raise de vcore keeping EIST and C1E enabled to reduce frequency and voltage --> less heat and power comsumption like I do, it doesn´t kill de OC at all.
