I believe you are mixing up "released" with "products available in the retail channel". Did your "contacts" tell you when there would be actual products available to buy?

Not everything has a published source you know.
Let's say that X guy has a contact in Y company, and Y tells X that they're working on this, and doing this, and releasing it then.

Should he record the conversation and release it ?

You can either take his word, or just ignore it.

Does the X38 really offer more performance over the P35?

Wasn't he the one who said he had confirmed those "Galaxy 8950GX2" cards?

The same ones that ended up being the previously-released 7900GT Masterpiece cards?

    I may be wrong though.

    I've said that it'll not have 8950GX²!

the sampel that you've seen about masterpiece is based on 2 G79. Galaxy planned to make it with two G80 after Computex, but the project is aborted actually (I know that since only 7days now..).

Project aborted don't mean that you'll never see this type of card (this depends if they sell the project and R& D docs to another company or just spend back money for this.)

Thank you moderator/administrator. But this presents a problem because every news post i make, the source is myself, seeing as how im the contact that gets the information

Anyway, I CANT WAIT, i just wanna get my hands on a new motherboard and start playin around again.

So guys, the "Source" are from someone I know. I can't revelead it, that can be understood

So I've in my "hand" few informations that said "Launch date : 09/24/2007".

    Thanks BenchZowner

SKYMTL : this "launch date" means that you will be able to buy X38 card 24TH Sept.
But that's like every time new chipset appears, If you have good contact with big -reseller you'll be able to get them 2 or 3 days before for sure !...

And in other countries you won't be able to get them before 2 or 3 days after the launch....

I think you should reconfirm with your source about them being available at retail on the 24th before you state that.

Another manufacturer had something different to say as to when they would actually be at the retailer level.

But for now I will take a wait-and-see approach.

NDA chipset Intel X38 = 24 september (Source : Intel France the 30 august can be front ...)

But the Gigabyte X38 and Asus X38 available to the sale enters the 15 and 20 September.

the NDA isn't to respect for some time and it's worse into worse

    That's confirmed.
I've a file where there's clearly written "Launch 09/24", this file come from an official way.

And I can say that I'm not the onliest guy to have this information

I haven't signed any NDA but I know lot of think that I don't want to diffuse now, maybe in next week.

Cause everything I've to said about performances and/or overclocking capabilities are informations that are Under NDA.
I'm respect full for my source and even if they have NDA or not, I don't want to diffuse those information now.

I hope some of you will understand that...
( Im' just a guy that love computing technologies, I make it only as a hobby ! I haven't any financial interest in that type of information, or in Syndrome6OC website ^^)

I am pretty sure I am not under NDA.

I did some quick OC-tests of the Gigabyte X38-DQ6 with a E6750ES. 500 MHz FSB was as far as I could run it stable. The same chip did 510 on P35 with that voltage and cooling.

Intel imposes a NDA but the manufacturers doesnt respect it, and all the testers dont have anymore

its exactly the same problem for P35, normally the NDA was during Computex has Taiwan (June 9) but the motherboard was already available to the sale

Considering it doesnt arrive has to make apply the sale of Intel ES by thousands ; then to control the Web to prohibit the benchs 45nm, one can always dream
