*sigh*
You still need to run glycol in your main loop.
How are you going to regulate temps..
As i told you... the HX plate isnt a gaurentee that your main loop wont freeze.
Water expands when its frozen.
I think you see the rest...
Read the top post.
Norris u have a chiller so you know it first hand.
When running sub ambient water, whats the biggest danger besides your chiller blowing up?
Its VERY VERY VERY Dangerous to run a system which can go below 5C even without glycol. Norris you know water turns to slush then ice, and can cause havok.

pics of mIIIf block mounted? you going to have a solution for the vregs as well?
Hence is why I have a thermostat to control my temps. I agree if you are going to go with sub-zero temps then you will need to have glycol in the loop, even if you are benching, but not for sub ambient temps that sit above freezing. The reality is that not many would by this due to price and application. You will not use this for phase for reasons already pointed out and the amount of folks that care what their chiller looks like are maybe 1 in a million, most will care about performance and therefore a PlateHX wouldn't do anything for them unless they are running a coolant like R134 on one side and a glycol mix on the other side. I stated in the beginning this was interesting, not perfect or practical. The shear fact it has G1/4" fittings rules it out for most applications.

Isn't 1st thread called direct marketing?
Is that allowed here or do you pay extra for advertising?
How do you do that and get past admin?![]()
Please advise.
id love to use a plate heat exchanger between a plain water loop dumping heat to the hot water headder tank in the loft (liquid change couple of times a day as baths etc draw water through the boiller) and a properly uv / corrosion inhibited / anti microbial loop for all my blocks. Only problem is i dont think the landlord would like holes in my cealing![]()
Dear XS friend.
First of all do you always answer to questions with other questions?
Second of all have you read forum guidelines e.g. rules?
Let me do that for you
"4. We do not permit advertising of any kind.
This includes offering items for sale or trade (other than in the Classifieds). Posting to your homepage, an eBay URL, a URL to another site, or announcements of new sites. This applies equally to commercial and private sites/ads. This is also not to happen within user signatures. Links to deals available online are to be posted only in Online Deals & Sales. The only allowed links in a signature will be links directly related to XtremeSystems, Xtreme D2OL, Xtreme Folding@Home and XtremeSystems affiliated website or organization. If you wish to link to your site, you may do so in your usercp which links in every post you make."
Forums (not only this one) is ment for users to express their minds and share their experiences.
If everybody is about to break rules here, than I'd like to start with saying some which would break rule nb. 1, 2, 9 and 13.
Hmmmm...no i won't
My friends (not from comp. area) also own companies. Should they or may they by any chance drop by and post links to their stuff?I think you will have a pile of junk sooner or later here.
Now that is just my opinion. Do not get angry by reading it.
Don't like questions? I'll answer the important one Weevil posted:
We are very fortunate to have manufacturers not only post their new products but accept constructive input on them. They are not advertising, they are announcing their new products. They are also sticking around and offering support as they are able. If you don't see the benefit in this, please read Movieman's post quoted above and leave well enough alone. Let the rest of us enjoy this very rare occurrence of manufacturers coming to speak directly with the end user about their products. Seriously...I can't believe you're complaining about that.![]()
[XC] gomeler - Public note: If you PM me to tell me that I am disrespectful at least have space in your PM box so I can tell you I don't care.
[XC] gomeler - I come to the news section to ban people, not read complaints.
I heart gomeler!
We allow and support product manufacturers (and their reps that are declared as such) to do this. There a few general caveats, such as 1) being the manufacturer or products we already commonly use, 2) the post is worded as a product launch (Dean, Gabe, Eddy_EK all do it well), 3) they don't spam the section, 4) they continue to interact on the forum.
Threads like this are a good thing for our members and readers.

rules and conditions maybe changed at the discretion on the owner.
The admins speak for the owner, and the admins have said it is okey for a preview.
Last time i checked this forum was owned by Charles.. not you...
You need to learn that if an admin or mod says OK, its typically OK, unless someone higher then them says no.
We dont see charles busting our admins now do you?
Last time i also checked, dave and eric were admins..
well Eric has an admin title, but i havent seen him use his power in ages tho....![]()

guys i realized a good way to use the LLE.
One side setup a bong chiller.
The other side run straight distilled.
Then you dont need to worry about evaping expensive water, and you can keep filling the bong side with tap water.
But honestly i dont know how effective this will be... Stainless Steel is not a metal you want as optimum to exchange heat.

The heat exchanger would work perfect for the geo-loop I am planning.
It won't be the most commonly used product or anything, but IMO a G1/4 liquid:liquid heat exchanger definitely has its place in this market.
You don't just "drop by" this forum and spam commercial postings... one would be ejected rather quickly IMO.
The reason why product announcement posts from people like myself, Gabe, Eddy, and Dean are tolerated, is because we aren't just here for business purposes, we are also a part of the community.
In fact, I was a part of the community before I was a manufacturer.
I am very careful not to abuse the privelege. I don't spam unrelated threads with self promotion. I don't visit other people's "what reservoir should I buy" threads and suggest my own product. I make sure that I contribute at least as much to the community as the community contributes to me.
