    Caldera Rev2 heatsink for ATI4870X2

    Introducing Revision 2 of the Caldera heatsink for ATI4870X2 graphics cards.

    Initial release was CNC machined from billet aluminum. Revision 2 is now made of a custom aluminum extrusion allowing taller and thinner fins for better convective cooling. Fin orientation is now longitudinal. Cost is substantially lowered (new MSRP is $28.95)

    The product is compatible with MCW60 and Caldera Water-blocks.

    The Caldera cooling system (Water-block + heatsink combo) is expected to drop in price as a result.

    Eddy is talking about the no advertising rule which restricts selling outside of Fs, which I'm guessing may be different for actual companies selling their new products in comparison to individual, "normal" users.

    Oh ffs, give your high horses a rest. Gabe isn't selling anything here, he stated the changed MSRP. For those of you too busy with your high horses to Google what that means...MSRP = Manufacturer Suggested Retail Price.

    If you cant write something wise, don't write anything.

    Me too! A pro would have pm'd Gabe over this and tried to discuss it privately and keep things low key and proffessional. Another option would be to run straight to a mod and tattle. Here we have one last option to basically just whine about it in the public view. If you had pm'd Gabe he would have gotten an email and most likely responded to your complaint sooner. Seriously I am the last person to stand up for Gabe ordinarily but in this case it's well warranted.

    I agree this would be probably the best option. It was just too obvious with all his announcements that I had to say something
    I will keep off this thread now and I would just like to read Gabe's reply.

    Gentlemen;
    yes, it does appear to be in conflict with rule#4 but in my interpretation only appears to.
    he's announcing a new product vs say a post saying "Come and buy my GTZ block" and posting that weekly.
    I don't see this as an issue any more than I would with Eddy posting a new product.
    These are things IMO that we want so as to inform us of what is available.
    Other Admins might disagree with me on this. I haven't spoken to them about it. Just my gut feeling and hopefully the right one!
    Thanks for reading.
