EDIT: ...."our" man from in there: "I just can't give you numbers yet till Wednesday, but I benched a bit with it on the 3D Mark 2005 and I must confess that with the X1800 on a 4000+, I got much more marks than the GTX on a FX57".......

yeah they look cool........... and nice pic with the Ln2 behind the guy, and the pose, lol class.

Benchmark scores are all well and good, but most people want to see game numbers. Id id bet a lot of money, that in games, it won't be much higher, especially in new games. Newer games are all about Shader power, and fill-rates, i think the high 05 scores with the X1800 is because of it's 1500mhz memory speed, rather than it's all round ability.

I don't think that they have been "sold out to ATI"........macci was fond of ATI.....BUT IF ONLY ATI is the one which invite them all over the world for these events and not NVIDIA, they go......Wouldn't you?......

Maybe, but why would ATi want to do that? Why "buy" some overclockers to give them pre released, handpicked hardware to reach insane scores. This is not fair toward other overclockers. Why don't they let the community decide whether your product is good or not. If it's good, people will automatically use it.

I know it's all PR and stuff, but is it fair? What if Nvidia hires Shamino to do some benches with a G80 engineering sample.

The "hiring" of Sampsa seems to fit in ATi's PR scheme as he was the only one who dared to criticise ATi in the infamous "Look what arrived at castle Grayskull" or something like that thread. Later on he started the "Look what showed up at the front door of Castle Sampsa... " to give ATi a piece of it's own cake.

Annother thing is that crossfire motherboards are nowhere to be found. They simply don't exist (paper launch no xxx). And the X1800XT will only be availabe from the 5th of November on, so that's more than a month before other overclockers can begin to compete.

I talked with DFI USA last week. They expect the production boards in the next few days. This shipment was not to be samples but stock for shipping. They will cost around $229.00.
