I am just using what came with the board, 3/10/05

You know what i don't get about motherboards lately? It used to be so much easier. Pop in your ram (no matter what brand/model) and it booted. These DFI (specifically) boards seem to be more annoying to first use every time. To think that you can't just boot up the comp with 2 sticks of ram and it not work is just ridiculous.

Bios update seemed to fix my dual channel problem. I'm gonna go for memtest now.

    Thanks.

Update, running memtest for about 10 minutes on test #5 at each overclock step. 250mhz was fine. 265mhz with 2.7v is fine so far. Gonna push for 275-280 considering my San Diego maxes around 2.8ghz.

    edit again:
265mhz was fine. going for 272mhz right now

    edit again:
272mhz was fine. Trying 280mhz now with the same settings as before.

Nice, these newegg tracers are amazing.

Remember to try lower multis to eliminate your cpu being the problem.

    Just to rub it in...

Still running even now. 20 minutes. 10 minutes on test #5 and 10 minute on test #7
    No errors.

    Gonna push for 285 now.
EDIT: Crap, on pass 2 and 3 of test #5 I got 4 errors and 2 errors respectively at the end of the test. I'll try test #7 and see if that gives me errors.
Though, on pass number 4 and 5 I didn't get any errors? Anyone think that 2.8v will get me higher?
Actually, I think my errors are from heat... The top side of the sticks are warm. I do have a ~30cfm 80mm fan on them though...

Give me an hour or so and I'll post my A64 tweaker settings and I'll see if you guys have an opinions on if I can get further or not.

Try 2.6v.. that was good for me. I can run memtest error free up to 285. I cant run Super pi 32m and prime95 above 277. Dont get to excited Just b/c memtest passes. Run 32m Super pi for stability.

It would be a HUGE help to everyone if the this thread included BIOS settins such as drive strengths, Tref, voltages, timings, BIOS revsion, Dimm's used, Processor type, etc.

No gain in bandwidth with the 9.0 or 9.5 multiplier. Cpu speed is down compared to my 10 and 11 multiplier results.

The half multis will run the memory speed lower than you think because it rounds up the divider for memory speed. It'll do mem speed = clockspeed / X+.5 where X is your multi.

Do you hear that nugzo? Were you running 9.5x or 9.0x multi for your new results?

nugzo, I don't see the point of running the half multis...just run 271x10, it's the exact same mem and clockspeed.

So, I accidently hit the OK button when PI was done. I didn't feel like running it again, but there is my successfully completed time. I don't have Sandra installed yet either
