they'll attempt a pricing re-structure and possibly a conference or 2 on Maxwell upcoming power.
been thinking of organising a group buy for a while for Aus enthusiasts, it wont affect the local markets anyways, these guys as well as umart run balances sheets of hundreds of millions.

この世界には 人の運命を司る 何らかの超越的な 〝律〝...... 〝神の手〝が 存在するのだろうか? 少なくとも 人は 自らの意志さえ 自由にはできな
The Bottom Line HARDOCP the price is $549 WOW for $100 more I can have 2 TITANS
You may have read this evaluation and feel like the AMD Radeon R9 290X isn't quite as fast as you expected at 1600p or 1080p. We think there was a lot of hype surrounding this video card, everyone was hoping it will be a "TITAN killer" at those resolutions. It isn't, in terms of performance, but it is in terms of price and value.
It is amazing how powerful the R9 290X is at Ultra HD 4K gaming resolutions when compared to the GeForce GTX TITAN. This is where the R9 290X truly shines. In the case of 4K gaming, the Radeon R9 290X is definitely a "TITAN killer."
If it weren't for the $549 price point that AMD has set, many would call this card disappointing. But AMD did the right thing and priced this card incredibly competitive. The GeForce GTX TITAN still has an MSRP of $999, and the GeForce GTX 780 is at $649 MSRP. The Radeon R9 290X at $549 is delivering TITAN performance at a savings of $450 compared to the TITAN price. The Radeon R9 290X is delivering performance better than the GeForce GTX 780 at a price savings of $100. The bang for the buck value is what makes the R9 290X a big winner.
The Radeon R9 290X is an exceptional value, and allows us to highly recommend the Radeon R9 290X to gamers. It offers phenomenal single-GPU video card performance at a great price.
The R9 290X is absolutely the best performer at Ultra HD 4K for a single GPU video card. And consider this, for just $100 above the price of one GTX TITAN, you can own two Radeon R9 290X video cards and use those in a CrossFire configuration. Yes, we will surely be looking into that.
Well done AMD. Big GPU Kudos.

GTX 480
and here looooooooool That's ridiculousThe GTX 480 is hot. I know many enthusiasts are not going to be satisfied with a video card that idles at 73C (and even hotter in most SLI setups) and runs 93C under pretty much any kind of load. There have to be long term implications to this and I would just suggest that you buy from a board builder that has a rock solid warranty and a reputation for great customer service if Fermi is for you. These cards are hot and can very much raise the temperature in the room you are using your setup in. Maybe NVIDIA can bundle a coupon for a new ceiling fan?
R9 290X
When the temperature up to 93c with GTX 480 card This was a dangerous and scary and threatening the stability of the card and and andDo not be alarmed at the 95c temperatures on the R9 290X. Remember, the video card is designed to run with the GPU that hot. It may be a shock to us, expecting much lower temperatures, but 95c really is OK for the card and GPU.
but now........... R9 290X card with 95c temperatures is ok and cool
this is really really really ridiculous![]()
WOOOOOF
WTF with the reference cooler ?
Normally, people learns from the mistake they made but it seems AMD don't.
How is it possible on earth that AMD repeat this kind of failure ?
Do they really like to be on top of the charts regarding noise @launch ?
Why present your flagship product with such a flaw ?
Woohooo, R9 290x - Attack on TITAN (if anyone here watch anime :d ). So looking forward to Gigabyte Windforce X3 or MSI lightning variant of this monster GPU
