I received some 3/8"-5/8" Norprene yesterday. Initially it appeared to not hold securely with Bitspower compression fittings. It could maintain around 5kgf or ~11lbf, before starting to slip off. In practice that should be sufficient, but it still made me a bit hesitant to use it.

Later on I found that after seating for a few hours the hold of the tubing will increase. The part that's slid over the barb section of the fitting starts to form around it and bulge. After leaving my test section overnight the hold further improved. It will now hold 8kgf or ~17.6lbf, before slightly slipping. It should be more than sufficient for a double 35X pump setup.

Can't say for Bitspower fittings but EKs hold fine. Thank you for the update cx-ray!

I've now also tested a piece of tubing in my loop from the exit of an EK-DDC Dual TOP V2 with two 35X pumps running at full speed for two days. No creeping or loosening of the tubing inside the fittings. I think it's probably safe to do my whole loop now

Give it a couple of months, it will begin to progressively get worse. It's just the beginning of nickel corrosion.

I bought 2 EN Nickel blocks last year and one of them began showing signs of corrosion within a month. Both look terrible now. So does my EN Supreme HF.

I'm sick and tired of dealing with their shoddy third-party plating. I'm going to find a local electroless nickel plating company here to re-do them. IIRC, they have a minimum service fee so I'd gladly do a group plating service to anyone interested.

@owikh: that is not a corrosion as this part is not in contact with water at all. It appears as the nickel plated base was not cleaned properly before the top was installed over it. Not pretty indeed but thats about it. Can you give me the QC number found inside the box so I can forward this to the assembly worker responsible for this?

@Raul-7: which blocks? Do you happen to have invoice number by hand? Can you give me your RMA ticket so I can follow up?

    Regards,
    Niko

QC 31 was slapped and (s)he is sorry. Relax, it's a water block, not your cars brake system . Joke aside, these dry spots of residue are always present when the product comes from the nickel plating bath. The products are rinsed afterwards but that never cleans everything. It is a leftover from nickel plating process. That might not be visible to the assembly worker's eye at first glance when we was doing the assembly. Not trying to defend him/her just trying to say they need to do a lot of these per hour just to cover the demand for EK-FC Titan.

Hit me up on my PM next time you want purchase our gear, okay?

    Regards,
    Niko

I am pulling out all the tubing and installing acrylic hard lines (heat bent from E22) and plan to put in 4-way SLI 780s with EK CSQ blocks to match the full set of EK
    blocks currently installed. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zW4Tx7yWGUo

If its any help i've looked at high res pics of the back PCB and there are no different resistors/holes other than the memory chips. But probably best to physically check to be sure

I'll see what we can do, no promises though, we are fully booked with new products. Too much work, not enough labor.
