I don?t criticize the fact that IHS is removed, and agree on this being covered by a warranty plan like protection plan that might come would be ok, this would be an appropriate solution. But as long as physical damage is not covered nor tolerated by Intel warranty, reapplying ihs and covering up the damage done, with silicon, and afterwards sending to rma is a simple act of fraud - shoplifting via rma
