Its not important they are fully functionnal or work at low speed or different speed, they just need them to be working for start the tests. This said, it is fully possible they have got the first raw of full tested chips when Nvidia is starting the production ramp up. They need a lot of thoses cores for start testing and building the system, because you cant simulate each parts as a valid results for the interconnect and the software ofc.

Yes they are some sillicon ready, as i was mention, they release the K20 in less of 2 months, i hope they have start product them lol .
I am pretty sure those 1000 cards were not engineering samples. Titan is complete with 18,688 cards. And the specs are more a bit more impressive than the recent information on the cards suggest.

    From gypsel from beyond 3d.

    Gipsel
According to HPCWire, the Teslas run at 732 MHz. Taking the claimed 27 PFlop/s theoretical peak and factoring in the CPU flops (2,63PFLOP/s for base clock, would be 2,99 PFlop/s for all core turbo clock), it is a 14 SMx GK110 version.

    14 SMx
    732 MHz
6 GB GDDR5 @ 384Bit memory interface (clock still unknown)
    1.31 TFlop/s theoretical peak

It's probably the top version of the K20 line"

If your wondering, you can get these specs by dividing the amount of cards, by the amount of memory(112tb/ 18,688 cards) and also the given teraflop number gives the SMX.

I can definitely see a gaming version running at 850-900mhz with all 15 smx clusters enabled.

Unless they reserve GK110 for Tesla and Quadro cards to keep gaming cards GPGPU-light and force people to buy their professional offers...
I really hope that does not happen, but it is still a possibility.

Kepler's prices are going down here in France.
    ~300? for GTX 670 reference (1, 2) and we've seen 680 for 350? (sold out) and 400? for customized models. (1, 2)

edit : ? means euros, new server bug.

I'll give a flying hoot about 3-monitor gaming when 30'' bezelless displays are readily accessible. There is no way I would game on my three 30'' displays right now.

possibility? they've already done that for the 600 series. I don't see any reason why they won't do that again if AMD doesn't offer garguantuan amounts of improvement.

You have a three-monitor setup, and you're not gaming? What in the world are you doing? Google Earth browsing?

She said she is not gaming on her three displays. Doesn't mean she isn't on one display. Personally I would never game on more than one display myself because I cannot stand the bezels. Projectors maybe, but that's another story altogether.

bezels dont bother me at all by comparison to the stretched fov two extra monitors provide less than one monitors extra view space in most games

    Phk on expreview says "2304 48 384 3G 863 6008". A picture of the box has surfaced as well... http://videocardz.com/images/2013/05...ce-GTX-780.jpg .

(for anyone googling who may not understand that, the "rumor" would be 2304sp, 48rop, 384-bit memory bus width, 3gb vram, 863mhz base clock, 6ghz memory).

EDIT: Also PCOnline is saying the price tag is 3999 yuan, which is half the Titan's 7999 yuan listed price... a hint towards a $500 USD price perhaps, which is half of the Titan's.

Curious... 2304 was exactly the number of cores rumored for the GTX680 for a while... I wonder if it is really GK110 or something else..

I didn't see any DX12 rumors, only rumors of a. OCd 680s b. Titan LE c. Titan Ultra.

None of those would be DX12. OTOH, all of those (especially the latter) would sell very well. More variants of the Titan line would pretty much lock down the high end for NVIDIA as all AMD has for the rest of the year is 7970 and it's VERY difficult to generate excitement/sales for 18 month old parts.

The GPU market has morphed into the CPU market with AMD taking the "We're number two but good enough for gaming and a darn good value!" stance.

Sad that it has come to this. I remember when building a gaming rig I used to evaluate the cards based on PowerVR, 3DFX, NVIDIA, ATi, S3, Rendition, and Matrox chips.

It was also a rumor for the GK110 last year, and more recently there was a rumor for the Titan LE having 2304 CCs.

I would be still really surprised if they used 13 SMX / 384-bit configuration... Because, with overclocking options, it would perform just as well as Titan does.
