I have the same issue, selecting the high performance from the power option fix it.
    hope that's will help

i found older bios like 0904 much stable than newer ones...new ones add W8 support wich i will never use, so even BIOS 0095 wich im runing is stronger

just a hint for those complicated with BIOS

    cheers to all

Is pcie 3 possible with this mobo + 2600k + nvidia gtx 670? Gpu-z shows 2.0, does the reg tweak work for this setup? Also did anyone notice any performance DECREASE due to pcie 3 and this setup? Thanks

    Hello to all,
I'm getting myself familiar with an MVE and a 3770K. I'm able to boot into windows 49x 100 but if I select 50x100 or 51x100 in the bios (1501) the POST shows 5000 and 5100, no problem, but in windows 7 (64bit) CPUZ always shows a max multi of 49x (49x100). I can increase the bclk to 102 and 104 and get 5GHz and 5.1GHz in CPUZ that way but my max multi is always 49x. What am I doing wrong? I'm obviously happy to be able to get into windows but the multi will not go above 49. Disabled speed step, C1E, C3, C6, C7 in bios also.

    Thanx in advance.

Looks like my BIOS1 is corrupt. Went to BIOS2 and multiplier OK now............but the bios is at 0257. I might try 1408? (might be different number)

yes mate flash it with rog connect at the back, just rename the bios of your taste to M5E.CAP (u got a M5E right ? ) put it on a formated flash drive and press the button for 6 seconds...let it flash till it stops blkinking then is all set
    good luck !!!

    Greetings guys,

Hope you can help me so I don't have to RMA

I have had my Maximus V Extreme up and running perfectly for about a month - Stock Settings for Gskill Ram at 1600 and a i7 3770

Anyway everything was working fine until this bizzare problem came up

Every couple of days the computer will lose all contact with its USB connections. The screen will go blank and a whole bunch of Q Codes will start popping up on the motherboard. I cant get the board to post until I unplug all usb and plug in a single ps2 mouse. That is the only way I can even get to the bios or load windows. Once that happens I can plug in a usb mouse again and keep rocking

So far I don't know what to do as it keeps happening every few days. My temps are great, games are 100% stable, windows runs perfectly. Absolutely no problems except for this USB thing that popped up after a month

Any advice will be greatly appreciate

    Hey Raja

At this point I'm down to only using a single USB mouse (scared to plug anthing else in - went bluetooth for the keyboard / ps2 keyboard to boot) All other USB headers are unplugged. I've tried both the USB 2 and 3 slots I'm on the latest 1501 bios from the site. Upgraded to that last week hoping it would solve the problem but no impact

Woke up this morning and it happened again in the middle of the night. Looks like it is getting worse. What a bummer as I was very happy with this new build.

Any suggestions? Or should I call asus? Thank you

Does sound odd. May I ask what other USB devices you had plugged in before these issues started?

If need be you can RMA the board, but I'd like to know a few more specifics to prevent this from happening again. Just wondering if one of the devices you used had some kind of compliance issue.

Hello, I just put my V Extreme in tonight with my 680 GTX FTW 4GB but I see it as 8x and even setting it to Gen 2 keeps it at 8x. I have the latest BIOS for the board, and have reseated it as well.

    any ideas?
