It works for my 5850, but now it only uses the GPU. No work for the CPU. And it went up from 3 minutes per WU to over 5 minutes.
Depending on how much over 5 minutes you are still getting a pretty good increase in overall throughput. Each GPU + CPU (including HT or not) + OS configuration needs to be assessed to find the overall benefit.
