    I'm having a heck of a time overclocking 4x4GB of HYK0 to anything over default and I've re-reread this entire thread for troubleshooting ideas and suggestions...is it okay to post in this thread for help or should I start a new post? I'm running a 3570K on a P8Z77-V.

    Hmm, what settings are you using? With that setup I'd imagine you'd be able to do at least 2400 11-11-11.

    I'm running the CPU at 4.6GHz@1.24Vcore...

    3570K
    ASUS P8Z77-V
    1605 bios
    4x4GB Samsung Green 30nm

    It really doesn't matter which timings I set, MemTest will generally crap out unless it's at default RAM speed. Even if I manually set the timings to what the AUTO timings are, MemTest will probably fail (assuming I boot into Windows). I've tried doing this in separate pairs, as well as mixing/matching the pairs, and get the same results so unless my IMC is garbage or at least 3 of the sticks are borked I feel I must be doing something wrong. Here are some of the things I've tried to set that seem to have worked for others:

    RAM voltages ranging from default (1.35) to 1.65
    VCCSA up to 1.1
    timings from 9-9-9 to 12-12-12
    2T
    DRAM Ref 200
    Transmitter Slew 3
    Receiver Slew 4
    C1E,etc Disabled

    I've spent many hours trying many variations of these settings while making minimal headway. MemTest seems to work at 800 8-8-8-24-1T @1.5V (haven't tried lower yet)

    help?

    These sticks don't like flat timings much. Try 2133 9-11-11 1.5v.

    9-11-11-1T didn't work, even at 1.6 (wouldn't boot)...10-11-11-1T booted at 1.6 but threw MemTest errors. Increase VCCSA from default?

    I'm not sure what Shiranui is on about but 11-11-11-28 got me all the way to 2564(unstable but it was a benching run anyway) with nothing but minor voltage adjustments and a slight bump in tRFC to 147(from stock, 128). Currently running 2400 11-11-11-28 1T 147tRFC 1.5v, completely stable.
    But to answer your question, yes. Raise the VCCSA a little, to about 1.15v or 1.2v. Also try putting them back on command rate 1T. I actually had a harder time stabilizing them at 2T than 1T.

    Isn't that a ton of voltage on the VCCSA?

    I'm shooting for 1T and have only used 2T as a troubleshooting setting (which yielded no real stability gains).

    Are you running all four of those sticks in your sig at those settings? Are they HYK0 or HCH9? Have you adjusted any other DRAM timings other than the ones you've listed (Slew, etc)? Would the fact that you're running X79 make a difference or shouldn't Z77 be even better for mem oc? I'll try 147tRFC but have gone from 200-400 with no appreciable difference so far.

    I'll answer your questions in the order they were asked:
    Maybe on IVB, I don't really know. For SB-E 1.3v is considered safe, higher if cooling permits.
    Yes.
    HYK0.
    Slews are set to auto. No other timings were adjusted. I can post screenshots of my timing screens or MemTweakIt if you like.
    AFAIK, Z77 generally clocks memory better. Then again, it's really dependent on a lot of other factors.

    Very happy with these rams on my z77 ud5h 2300 with two sticks easy for any 3d benching,on my rIVe np quad 2200 both at 9 10 10 28 t1 128 1.50v.
    That was just a few hours testing hope to get close to 2400 soon.

    Are YK0 better than HCH9?

    Having two sticks of YK0,week 47/11,currently running 2133 9-10-10-21-1T-90 and tight subs@ 1.48 and memtest stable

    They're essentially the same chips, just speed binned differently by Samsung.

    Are you sure it's the VCCSA (System Agent Voltage) and not the VCCIO (VTT/IMC) he needs to bump?

    Got three sticks today for X58/920. Haven't got to play much with them but they are stable at 1600mhz 777 and 2000mhz 999 at 1.5v. Can't complain at all for $60.

    4sticks overclock is harder then 2sticks, so try with 2 at first.

    You have them here, though steep price was ~15€ cheaper not long ago, I think they are trying to capitalize on the high demand... :/

    I found them also here, much nicer price

    Some random runs to share with other X58 owners. All sticks are HYKO, two are 1216, one 1219.

    Too bad about uncore/vtt limitations on water. Still haven't messed around with the EVGA E760 much after leaving the Asus Gene II so more may come.

    Try cl8 must be fairly easy to achieve also in SB/IB you could lower tras without a problem, I believe you should have non in x58 either. Try tRas 20 or 21

    Taps out at 1900mhz at CL8 1.65v 1T. Seems to be good for 237mhz per CL so
    2133mhz=CL9
    1900mhz=CL8
    1660mhz=CL7
    1422mhz=CL6

    About the same as my old 2gb stick Adata 2000X's that cost me 3 times as much couple years back.

    Ofcourse they are HYK0 chips, they're low voltage. YK0 is a low voltage chip. If you have the possibility to pick a certain week, go with 1205. What you will receive from Amazon will most likely be week 20 or higher.

    There's good ones in every batch though but most will be mediocre. It all depends on what you're looking for.

    YK0 1205 2x4GB
    managed to get the ram voltage lower.
    BIOS set ram voltage at 1.325V (ignore the cpu-tweaker vdimm, that's totally off)
    Memory clock divider at 2133, all timings at default (AUTO).

    Any apps that could monitor my vdimm real-time? Motherboard is Asus P8Z77-M. ASUS utility doesn't display vdimm at all.
