So far, is there any trending with the 3570Ks yielding slower OCs than 3770Ks? Not quite enough samples in this thread to tell one way or the other.

Is HT really all that useful in gaming and stuff? I'm trying to decide between the 3570 and 3770. I mean when each core is running 4.5ghz+ is it not fast enough to chew through tasks?

HT isn't really useful with gaming, but it is on some scientific processing, video editing, etc. The binning may be better on the 3770s, though, meaning you may be able to get a better overclock on the 3770s. I understand this was the case with the 2700Ks, but I don't think there is enough data out there yet to tell one way or another with the 3770s...

Really does wonder if it is worth the huge premium, relatively speaking.

I think this is the first chip I'm going to pass on Hyperthreading with -- considering that virtualization support has been removed from the K series, I don't see much reason to have Hyperthreading for my usage patterns (I game with my primary PC and turn old hardware into servers). I don't think the extra cache on the I7 is really going to make much difference gaming, and I'll just put the saved cash toward a second or third vid card.

After adding various expansion cards, I've had to increase voltage to keep stability on my 3770K

    45 x 100
    2 x 4GB Samsung HCH9 DDR3-2133

From no expansion cards with a bios offset of +0.005V, using IGP.

    Then adding:
    + X-Fi Titanium HD PCI-E, increase by 0.020V, for a BIOS Offset @ +0.025V
    + Radeon 7770 PCI-E, increase by another 0.025V, for a BIOS Offset @ +0.050V

I am wondering what I will need to increase to move up to 4 x 4 GB.

    I've been testing two 3570K from batch# L204B450. They both seem to o.c. in a similar manner... 44x with ~ 1.15v (load), 45x with ~1.20v (load) and 46x with ~1.25v load

    11+ hrs. Folding at 46x:
Ryzen 9 on the test bench... Sometimes older generation/tech as well.

Will be leaving in a bit to get a 3570K. Is there a certain batch to look for yet? Or are A/B/C better for daily water?

Quite well thus far. No problems aside from the motherboard not liking my 6950 flashed to 6970.

At MicroCenter, had someone look around through a few of them.

Last couple digits, lower the number, closer to the center. 15 and less is center.

Just got home, have a lot to tear down and work on tonight. Will probably throw it up on a rack with a Hyper 212 Evo to get a baseline.
