My torture rack has separate water loops for the cpu and card that each get a Thermochill PA120.3 rad, huge modded CM stacker case.

Thanks my friend, I have two of these little monsters in the lab that both run 5G+ all the time. The rack currently has a Sandy 2700K at 5500mhz with a 3G 580 classi. I already have in two Ivy chips and a EVGA 680 with water block that is still in there plastic wrap unopened because of excessive work which I guess is good.

Yes at about 1.5 on this 2700K, it actually runs pretty cool. Batch is 3138A764 and seems to play well at 55 multi with temps in the mid 60s. EK supreme kills the heat rather well

i was thinking of doing this but with one of the gutted fans. already got some longer screws.. it's got 1 fan with two gutted fans to space it off the back of the case so i can run the tubing.

i'll grab some pics later this week. it's only the pc i keep in the garage. good ol p5b deluxe with an e6700. watercooled with a swiftech radiator with the mcp 35x mounted on the bottom of the rad and my old swiftech gtz waterblock. all hanging off the back of a coolermaster 690

Guys does Sandy benefit from z77 chipset? Or is Ivy better for the new high mem clocks?

Nope...plus the SB CPU will not be able to steer some of the new features on the Z77 board. Otherwise an Ivy CPU on a decent SB based motherboard can use the 2400 divider... but the performance between the chipsets is minimal...
Question : Why do some overclockers switch into d*ckmode when money is involved

Remark : They call me Pro Asus Saaya yupp, I agree

Hey all, recently upgraded my system with a i5 2500K on a MSI P67A-GD53 B3, cooling is a Corsair H100 with 4 apache blacks in push/pull and a few more blacks around the case
I attempted a OC of 5Ghz by setting the multiplier to 50, VCore 1.42, VCCSA 1.145, VCCIO 1.23, CPU PLL 1.9, DRAM Voltage 1.65
was not stable, which tbh was fairly surprising, i heard from a few people of getting that speed on this board, you think maybe my attempt was excessive?
if so what are your recommandations for max multiplier/voltages, need it stable enough for gaming use, ty.

Not nearly enough info about what you have unfortunately. I would check the mini dump files that are created when your system blue screens. That can help pin down what needs to be tweaked. It may be that you don't have a chip that can handle 5ghz. Not all can do it unfortunately.

Need some help guys. With these settings, I can push 4.8GHz stable at 1.472 in prime95. Any higher would bsod (win8 bsod :S). If I up offset to +.110, 5GHz will crash (v1.520). Have I reached the wall with this 2500k?
