    Greetings XS,

Long time member but been out of the game for a little while, picked up a 2500K because I needed an upgrade for BF3 multiplayer, threw it on a cheapo ASRock motherboard (the 120$ one) and threw it in the watercooling loop on my old Swiftech Apogee, shares the loop with Radeon 7970

So far I am priming at 4.8Ghz and 1.288v but my temps are about 70C under load! Either these new chips run hotter than I thought they would, or I need to re-seat my water block. Even for a Swiftech apogee I think I should be getting better temps at such low Vcore. But I won't complain because 4.8 Ghz at 1.288v looks to be pretty decent from what I've seen.

Updates and max multiplier testing to come later on when I have time.

    Cheers

    chip is malaysia, L201B309
4.8 ghz 1.3v to be prime stable past 30 minutes
    5 ghz 1.4v prime stable
    4.7 ghz takes only 1.25v
    bootup at 5.4 with 1.44v

Chip runs hot. Have reseated water block twice. At 1.3v still exceeds 60c under load. IHS contact inspected, appears IHS is... uneven?! Anyone else lap their sandy bridge IHS yet, results??
