And? Your point makes absolutely no sense. I guess if Bulldozer was an IPC monster that couldn't clock over 1ghz would make it a not so bad of a failure despite being worse then the present bulldozer.

IPC means absolutely ZERO by itself.


Bulldozer didn't disappointed, it's making jaws drop left and right, we all know now why Dirk Meyer was showed the door.


But it's not that bad. People are comparing the infancy of a brand new arch against a mature 7\8 years old arch, in fact so mature that it couldn't go anywhere else. It's obvious AMD missed the target clocks, hence the delays, but new, faster models are coming Q1, 3.9\4.2 stock, i believe still below what AMD was hopping for, a new better core is coming in six months, discrepancies from simulations\silicon must have been there from day 1, so there's future for the damn thing, it could be in better shape by now, yes it could, in fact it should.

And if those last orders graphs were right, these models are going to have a very short life, probably the shortest ever for cpu's, what really shows that something better is coming with new steppings, AMD is just trying to make a buck.
