I'm looking to buy this board once it's up for pre order in the uk.
Could you link me to where you bought it from and do a mini review please?
Thank you.
hehe almost. I ordered from Webhallen 5 euros cheaper
Komplett.se is good! But I couldnt find much info about international shipping for both shops.

Here's a few shots for your thread for now.
Contact looks good.
Gigabyte opted for a different PWM this time around, possibly to save space?
Previous style for comparison ( don't mind the board it was heavily abused and sent to OC parts heaven )

I had strings but now I'm free.

It's not as bad as you think. Thats conformal after being heated with a 2000 watt heatgun, I had to remove alot of parts to fix another board and wanted to get it done quickly.
IIRC that board died running wprime 1024 over 6.3 gig on thuban with 1.95v, basically enough to kill any board or cpu for that matter. Thats what happens when you mod OCP.

yeah saves 50% space and the new mosfets have higher amperage rating also![]()
I just took a quick look at the board on GBT's site.
Is it a digital PWM section? Looks like it may be, judging from the small chip above the CPU socket...
Any further info on those specs? Or maybe a better closeup of that chip...
EDIT: Really like the looks of that board, and the black/charcol color scheme is really classy!

it is necessary chew, it helps take the heat away from SB particularly when you're pumping multiGPU
Yeah, if anything it would probably add more heat to the SB.
OTOH, if you put some active cooling over the PWM/NB it may help keep the SB a little cooler....
Not that I've ever had a problem with SB overheating.![]()

oh maaaaan i'm still recovering from Computex forgive me Sir. We should probably make some thermal pads to warm up the bastard when multiGPU clocking starts and LN2 starts going all over the place![]()
@chew*
is it possible to put 4X 4890's that take up 2 slots?
& would an NHD14 + Ripjaws be compatible, spacewise?

thanks chew*, i have 4x 4890's on hand & i wanted to test all 4 in x-fire
BTW here's the NHD14 HSF

OK so got you covered on the 4 way shots.
I'm assuming that heatsink is popular now? I may just pick one up for clearance/mounting demonstrations on boards.
I got all willy nilly with cards and used a rather diverse variety to show you.
Dimm clearance is a tad tight with card in slot 1.
Dino, this is why I said I'd like to see heatpipe dropped on UD7.
It just looks cleaner and is more appealing visually, least for my taste, everyone has different taste however.
