I think BD will have to push very hard if its aiming at the 2600K, 6+ cores or not.

Considering there is only really one SB i7 (same chip, locked/unlocked multi) at the moment with the rest being i3/i5/Pentium/Xeon chips its hard to say that they're aiming to beat that.

Intel more then likely has more standard SB (& K's) i7's ready to release once BD makes its way out.

And you can compare different chips and different arch's, that's what synthetic benchmarks are for.
