Falkentyne has degraded his chip even at 1.260 as he says.
My CPU didn't degrade BECAUSE of 1.260v.

It degraded from 1.236v to 1.260v (for 4.5 ghz) due to Prime and game tests (black ops/Bad company 2) at 5 ghz 1.404-1.440v. The CPU had previously been a rock at 1.236v at 4.5 ghz as long as I never went to 5 ghz. And 1.404v used to be stable at 5 ghz, now it needs 1.440-1.452v, and this affected the lower overclocks also.

BTW my first 2600k is degrading fast, but i'm doing it on purpose. Some HT off game tests for a few days at 1.59v at 5.3 ghz, and long term gaming at 5 ghz 1.52v ht on. Trying to find exactly how long and at what range it will happen.

4.8 ghz 1.39v BSODs instantly in prime now. 4.7 ghz doesn't, though.

Once I've burnt this chip to a crisp, I'll hopefully know what to do to prevent the 2nd one from ever needing more than 1.272v for 4.5 ghz 12 hour blend, but if THAT Happens, judging by both chips having the same frequency/MP walls, it will be almost identical to how the first 2600k performed when brand new....
