For a board this expensive, the slots should at least be done right, as the layout on the R3E is.
That may be just fine for your "gaming" motherboard, but how many overclockers have you seen running Liquid nitrogen and banging out the tunes?

Come on, dont tell me that you dont bench while radio or laptop is playing music...

But using same rig as benching on would be kinda fail... First off; it takes ressources, second, you will hear less then 70% of the music, because other time is crash, bios, reboot.

When I bench, I hook up my 7.1 audio system to the bench rig and set volume to MAX. When the rig spits out yet-another set of errors, my family members share the pain.

ha, you know I would be excited about this board no matter what company it comes from. If this was an asus product, or evga product, around the same price point with teh same faetures, I would buy it cashmoney just so that they bring out another board for another chipset in the future.

I think alot of people feel the same way.

You don't need to be a GB fan to buy this board or love it, its deviation from standards that just don't benefit us all teh way, inital benches and overclocks are very promising, and we have somthing to get very excited about. I don't think any of us were this excited for teh G1 series or R3EBlack, and that is becuase while those boards are excellent motherboards, they don't fit out needs all the way. Good thing for the mobo companies is that we don't want all those add-on ICs for connectivity, we just want better power delivery and excellent overclockability with tuned latencies and BIOS. that is it.

Yea i am excited, a bit too much, but i am proud to be. If i see this board on a shelve at my local MC i will buy it just becuase i want to see future boards just like this.

massman i read your article, both at hwbot back a month ago and in the magazine, i agree with you 90%! haha i like your word choice.

One more thing, This ISN'T a review by ANY MEANS. I saw that MANY people post unboxings of new boards in the NEWs section, and no one gets moved, but i guess they felt they need to move mine?

This reminds me of people that bought the Foxconn Black Ops for a gaming rig lol and then complained about the color of the damn included fan! It is primarily (as in it's primary purpose for existing) a benching board. As with many things in life just because you can does not mean you should

If Dino can get good results on this mobo it has to be dead easy to work with !
Question : Why do some overclockers switch into d*ckmode when money is involved

Remark : They call me Pro Asus Saaya yupp, I agree

    11?

I can tune volume in 48 phases. 11. Don't make me laugh. No wonder you always have bad 980X's. Only 11 phases in your volume ...

Did you pay cashmoney for this board?
To be honest i think most of your excitement is down to it being a sponsored product (i'm guessing).
Dont get me wrong, many of us have/are in the same boat with sponsorships but your excitement level is a little bit too much volume 11.
Anyhow, enjoy the board man and we look forward to yet further results while none of us can buy it yet

I'm pretty much that excited for the board and I'm not getting it for free. In fact, I'm a bit pissed with all the delays as I sold my UD9 so now I'm stuck borrowing a UD4P from a friend until this thing finally releases...

Doesn't matter, I am going to buy one when it comes out, my excited has to do with the fact I have been waiting for this board for so many month. I really like the tech, doesn't matter if its sponsored or not. This isn't teh first product i have been given to review, I also haven't been this excited. What a thing to say.

T_M, I just wanted to say something because your comment sat with me there for a few days.
I have seen your results, and you have been playing(or seen or got to play) with this board before me right? lol you were at the OCAU event, so maybe your excitement isn't as much as mine. i saw your modding work on the HSF, i only wish i could have seen that board in action in person. I actually thought you did some nice mods man.

Honestly mate i have been reviewing hardware for years before this. Techpowerup.com go into the archives, search for Steven B back in 2005. Back then i had all kinds of sponsors, from mushkin to even crazyPC lol If you look on the Reviews page here I use that name sometimes when i want to sign my articles. Sponsorship or for that matter, a review product, isn't the issue here. I am not sponsored per say as much as i am given a product and expected to review it. As far as I know sponsorship means you get teh board to OC and just show OC results and take rankings with the board, or you get nice parts to put in your build and show off, like if you are a case modder. My part in all this is to give people a look deep inside the board, to see how it ticks and tocks. BUT this time around I am going to take a shot at benching, maybe trying to see what I can do.

Good luck to you sin0822. I think it's great that you can get excited still, better than being all boring.

I like the board a lot and can understand your enthusiasm.

I get excited about every piece of hardware I buy. It's one of my hobbies and enjoy new tech.

Don't try and bench like those Aussie's, can get a little drafty.

I'm considering trying to trade an MSI Big Bang Xpower for one of these... not sure if that's possible considering how new this one is.
Signatures make my posts look huge... but I'm not humble enough to completely remove my signature, so I kept this note explaining it.

Right! I fully agree with your enthusiasm, but no need to get down and dirty (Naked) with it this time around- although I know you will...

Just freeze it, and we all know that isn't a good time to be without under-garments

I look forward to your results man, a lot actually, you're the best reviewer we've had around in long time I think!
