    Worklog - Nadeshiko

Over the next week, if weather permits, i am going to do a complete tear down of my system, and rebuild.

Reason why i say if weather permits, is because at the end of tear down, i am gonna take my entire case outside with a hose and brush, and scrub it down.

In order for me to do that, i need sun, and at least a 75F weather, so i can have 2 20inch box fans blowing air on it to super dry it out.

Nadeshiko is composed of 2 subsections.

Futon is my Rad Chamber. -Wind
It will hold all my rads and bulk fans.

The Sepcs for Futon is as follows:
    Radiators:
    MCR320 x 2
    PA160
    PA120.3

    Fans:
    Tribewerk on the PA intake.
    Silverstone AP18 on the PA160
    SanAce for the MCR320 stack.

Possibly a few yates here and there to even distribution of air flow.
The way the unit will be fan'd serial.. meaning..
    CPU PA120.3 -> GPU PA160 -> MCR320 Stack -> out the rear.
100% of my Water -> Air transfer will occur in Futon.

    Mizu -Water holds everything else:

    Specs:
    Intel i7 990X
    eVGA Classified E758
    Nvidia 580GTX
(debating if i should drop in the second i have... but dont have water block yet tho.)
    Nvidia 250GTS - physics / 3rd monitor card.
    3 x 40Gig Intel SSD in Raid 0
    1 x 256gig Crucial C300 -> D:\Program Files\ <--- all my games go there. :P

    Display:
ASUS 27inch LED monitor -> Center
    Gateway 24inch S-PVA's @ 1920x1200 in portrait.

    Input devices:
Logitech G19 <-- i am a sucker for LCD bling...
    Logitech G13
    Logitech G500

What can i say? i love logitech...

She will be a TriLoop System.
    CPU -> PA120.3 - Dual DDC
    GPU -> MCR320 x 2 -> Dual DDC
Board -> LOL... debating on dual DDC again... or dual D5's.

Either 1 or both koolance bay res's + Koolance tube Res.

Tear down should start tomorrow should time permit.
I'll come in with part shots in the next post.

(aHHHHHH koolance has taken over my system... )

    Inital Spaming of Parts:

    My SSDs:

    My Board:

And the Res's i will be using.

noticed as u get older... widescreen's become portraits, so we can read news and other things without having to scroll down so much:

    *sigh*

more to come as i tear the system down.
The biggest fear i have is getting scared once i see all the parts sprawled on the floor.
Even the new parts i am wishing to add sprawled on the floor is scaring me alone.

Decided on DDC vs D5 already, or using both?

That screen setup looks nice with the screens in portrait mode

    Havent decided yet.

But im heavily leaning on using them both.
Its Way beyond overkill, but i cant figure out another way to compress that loop any smaller without using a bay res.

The D5 bay res would basically replace this unit that is currently doing my board loop:

This is going to be my temp system until i can get the main back up:

    2600k + M4E

Parts starting to sprawl over my floor:

Well it's good to be able to choose like that with both in your hands

Never tried a D5, always thought they were so big but that bay reservoir really takes care of that.

    My Koolance DDC Sinks:

The pad comes precut like that btw:

The mounting screws are XSPC compatible.
Alu Sink removal looks like this:

You would put that pad over that area.

    Open it down more:

Ran into 1 problem with one of the metal brackets getting TOO close to this cooper coil.
So i removed that side bracket entirely, and im using the bottom frame to hold the top portion together:

Will the SSD's be liquid cooled ?

In all seriousness, I can't wait to see all the epicness in this build NaeKuh .

    well some updates..

i am playing with bay res's at the moment.

Seeing all the people complain about the koolance bay res's i decided to pull it out on a short loop and run it.

Current problem i see is the right pump wont purge air once its logged in.

Updates... so i was playing with the bay res's initially.
As you noticed, they have bleeding issues, but i think i solved it.

You can also see my FC5 on the background which will be my temp diag panel.
The first will take air in @ Futon...
The second will take cpu loop watertemp
The third will take Gpu loop watertemp
and the fourth will take Board loop watertemp.

I am currently recording the offset between probes at the moment... and they both seem fairly accurate of one another.
They take turns being .4 away from each other... and then meet up again.. and do that tango..

And i will be using both bay res's.
Only 1 will be mounted in the bay, the other will be mounted either to the bottom side of mizu, or in futon chamber.

So total pump count is 6.

    4 x DDC
    2 x D5

Thank you, i just hope i can finish it.. as u can see the spawling of parts is growing into a big wave..

    3. Connect both side res's by removing side plug.
    4. Make sure u have both top fill ports open and start filling.
    5. Once u filled as much as possible.. close the right side, and then turn your pumps on.

Whats going to happen is the right side will purge.
The bubbles will go all over the place and eventually collect on the left side.
Since your left side fill port is open, you should be topping off, as the left side starts going down to 3/4th full.
You want to only leave a little air gap like in my pictures on the left side:

Then just keep topping the left side.... 10min later:

    Another 10 min later :

This is the easiest solution i can think of, without adding a Tline.
Once bleed, u can restart the pumps and not worry about rebleeding.

Anyhow more stuff sprawling on the floor:

Getting the DDC's Bay Res Ready:

The rev. 1.1 allows u to use a DDC sink in combination with the bay res.

The other DDC i need is in my system.
This is all surplus parts i have without disassembling my main system.

Expecting the sprawling of parts to be at least 5x larger when i finish dismantle.

    I have started disassembling it.

    And honestly its scaring me.

How i managed to fit all this stuff the first time around amazes me.

    Here is the starting pictures:

She looked like this b4 i disassembled:

Almost 1 gallon in coolant was pulled from all the loops:

I am going to change this hard pipe, I want something a bit more flexable.

With the board pulled it looks like this:

Ahhhhh parts starting to creep my floor:

My dog got annoyed.. lol so i had to move half the parts outside so he could lay down:

    Case emptied....

Dude i think im gonna go from ziptie diety... to the all mighty dust diety after this build..

which is why i said i will become a dust diety and not a ziptie diety after this.

LOL... i have no idea how the hell all that dust is getting in... i guess its because the case isnt entirely sealed.

But u guys can see how bad the top chamber is.... as i said, that chamber has always been my primary heat exchanger location.

Well, dust filters aren't perfect, so it makes sense that some dust makes it in. Especially when your dust filter looks like it's made of dust

my entire top chamber looks like its made of dust.

I swear u guys would think its unused and was sitting in the basement or something..

Take a little lunch break... and i will probably go back to parts washing..

    i need to clean out 4 rads... 3 ddc's.

I am not recycling any of my old res's so i dont need to worry about fully cleaning those.
Meh... I also assume i'll be spending a few hours in front of my solder doing new fan cables / headers...

    *sigh*

    why am i rebuilding again?

Another note... Vapor... i burnt the rheobuss extreme :O
It has burnt marks on the power input... :O

Im cursed with fan controllers period... i think im gonna make the FC-5 just report my DDC rpm's and ignore them as fan controllers entirely.
If an extreme cant last for me... there is no way a blingy lcd pwm fan controller will last as well.

If it's not any more hard tubing from fets to mobo FC, why do you need that Q block at all? Just turn both 90deg angle fittings 45deg to face each other and connect directly. Or even better - two normal straight fittings and piece of tubing (if needed, bent tighter with heating up tubing with spring inside to not kink) to replace them all.
I can understand when one doesn't care in his build about performance and just goes for bling/looks, then some hard tubing from fittings only (or using BP's sli crystal tubes) is understandable .. but here? All those expensive fittings/adapters serve no purpose but cut flow and look imho even worse then plain fittings
