I finally made it by @BIOS. It was the first time for me doing it with @BIOS- just a peace of cake.
The F8m runs pretty good so far.
    I wonder why Nam-uk hasn't flashed yet
    Where are you man ?

I'm with F8m and it works just the same as F8g - great

But I have one little problem, I'm running my vga card in PCIEX16_1 slot and it works in X8... Last time I saw cpu-z motherboard tab was about 14 days ago taking some screenshot and it was running X16... Other software (gpu-z etc) shows the same... If I switch vga card to PCIEX16_2 it works in X16 link but I have PCI sound card so I can't keep it there...

I tried with F8g bios reflash, bios reset, driver reinstall, newer chipset driver and nothing changes... It is not big deal for me but does anyone have some suggestion? Bios default boot the same thing, otherwise I have everything disabled in bios except for usb 2.0

@bios for me works best, havent had any issues since owning this UD7..

Another thing I find funny is AMD/Intel would snipe any of our Moms on a grocery run if it meant good quarterly results, and you are forever whining about what feser did?

    Yo guys,
I am running my HDDs in the IDE mode since I installed them. I decide switch from IDE to AHCI mode but I don't exactly what am I supposed to do.
At first I should change the IDE mode to the AHCI mode in the BIOS but I have to install some drivers as well. The reg. has to be changed that way:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Servic es\Msahci \Start correct the value (Hex) 0 - right now the value is 3.
Does anyone have a link to the drivers I need ?
Is there anything else I'll have to do beside change to the ahci mode and installing the drivers ?

First make the registry change then boot into bios switch from ide to ahci then install drivers.

It was easy changing into the AHCI mode on W 7.
But I have issues doing it on XP. Every time I try to install the RST driver appears a little window which says the system does not have the minimum standards...
    What can I do ?

To do it on XP you need to either slipstream a new install CD with the drivers, and then do a repair install and load the drivers (They'll auto load, but do F6 to be sure in case it lets you pick)

Or do a repair install and load the drivers from floppy. Repair install will not mess with any of your programs, settings, files, ect - the only thing it will do is make it so you have to reinstall all windows updates but that is it.

Here's how to do a repair install, not use the repair console as that is different.

    http://www.geekstogo.com/forum/topic...ir-windows-xp/
    http://pcsupport.about.com/od/operat...txprepair1.htm
    http://www.webtree.ca/windowsxp/repa...sting%20Setup:

You may be able to install new hardware from "Add Hardware" in the control panel manually (Legacy Hardware), then pick the correct device and manually load the floppy driver, then set AHCI in BIOS and reboot and see if it works. Start the process, and select "Yes, I have already added the hardware" Then at the bottom of the choices choose add new hardware, then select from list of devices and choose SCSI / RAID Controllers, then find Intel or choose Have Disk and try to install the Floppy AHCI Driver.

Sometimes it does, sometimes not, so you may need to do the above method unless you want to do a clean install which I doubt. Repair method is easy and quick and leaves everything as is.

    Thank you very much.

I have got that stuff straight.
At first I loaded this driver down and extracted it in the folder
    "windows\system32\drivers\.
Then I extracted the ICH10R-AHCI.REG and loaded it, started new, switched from IDE to AHCI booted XP, installed the RST driver and every thing is running great.

Make sure you enable achi in registry and install the latest rapid storage drivers

I did change the registry by using ICH10R-AHCI.REGexe and installed the latest rst driver.
There is a picture before and after I installed the rst driver:

Yeah man, I don't know what else I am supposed to change in registry yet because the registry has already been changed by ICH10R-AHCI.REG.exe, right ?
Or what exactly should I write into it ?

P.S. LSD if come to Germany let me know and we drink a few beers together

So Fritz, I am confused, did you get it working yet or no? If not, you may want to go ahead with the repair install method I mentioned, you'd be finished and using the system in AHCI mode by now if you do that.

For sure, if I am ever in Germany I'll look you up so we can drink some beers!

XP is running in ACHI mode pretty good. I don't think I 'll have to do anything in the registry

    UD7 and Coolermaster V8 cooler

    Hello,

I was recommending a good set of hardware to a friend who wants to build a good high performance PC, based upon the UD7 board.

    There is just one question:

Does the Coolermaster V8 block any of the memory slots? My friend wants to use 24 GB of Corsair dominator modules...

    Thanks in advance. ^.^
