This question isn't coming without a reason. My Scythe Mugen 2B just gave me that problem with Corsair Vengeance modules. Not to mention the heatspreaders did not adhere properly and came OFF. I ended up geting me some simple and shorter Akasa RAM coolers that work just fine...
Anyway, Corsair's support responded immediately and handed my info and photos on to their production department.

hello folks,
I was reinstalling Windows recently and took the opportunity to flash BIOS F8. I used F8M previously, but since the reinstallation (I had to do several due to another unrelated issue) my mouse has been disabled rather frequently. It looks to me like Windows 7 and the BIOS have been unable to enable my mouse. The failure rate was about 1/3rd of all system boots.
I tried enabling and disabling BIOS legacy support for the mouse, to no avail.
It also happens on both the ICH10 USB ports as well as on the USB 3. And it happens on both my Copperheads.
Anybody here having had similar issues?![]()

What speed is your PCIE bus running at? I have noticed the USB ports do funky things when PCIE is over 100MHz. Eg. My Logitech G5 mouse starts intermittently failing at about 105MHz, and my usb3 ports only work as usb2 when over 100MHz. I just leave it on auto these days. I used to have to change it to get high bclocks but it doesn't seem necessary with newer bioses.

Ok, here comes. Neither 100 nor 105 MHz work, it makes no difference. However AUTO seems to fix it.
How come that this affects both the chipset internal USB2 ports and the NEC USB3?
Secondly, why does that happen now? I have had this board since Feb. 2010 and been through almost all BIOSses since the initial F2 and never saw this problem.
Except for very rare initialization issues. like once a week.
F8m seems more trustworthy for me now.

Hi peeps,
I heard the recent rumors on Windows 8 prolly only supporting EFI installtions, and not the old BIOS anymore. (Personally I think that's rubbish, but that's a different story.)
What actually has to be done to do an EFI installation of Win7 on the UD7 Rev.1?
I am using BIOS F8M, EFI mode enabled.
I am using an older 500 GB HD, that I erased and formatted as GPT drive with 128 MB MSR partition. Still the Windows isntallation routine refuses to install on tis drive because it is GPT.
Is this Gigabyte-EFI stuff actually EFI/UEFI? Or is it nothing but plain support for HDs greater than 2 TB?

Bios has come a a long way, from F7 series.
First run, XMP enabled, all stock and Prime stable.
Time for some OC-ìng.
(REX3, Classie and Rev1 F7 needed some serious V-boost to run stable)
First runs are stable, and as far as the quirks I`ve had in the past, using 6x 4Gb`s, most of them are gone.
Booting from sleepmode, still results in a dropping of timings from 7-8-7 to 8-8-7.
Second flaw, and don`t know if it`s Windows, or board related, when copying more than 20Gb, disk to disk, results in a blue screen.
Stability for Linx and Prime are great though.
What is better a Rev 1.0 or 2.0 ?

Yo guys,
I have got back my Gigabyte GA-X58-UD-7 (Rev.1). I am happy with it.
ASUS Sabertooth X58 is a piece of junk compared to it.
