    Update on the nuvoton fan controller. manual (and of course automatic) control on CPU_FAN seems not to work at all without a 4-pin fan. speed becomes stuck at 100%. the rest of the CHA_FAN plugs work fine with automatic and manual though. gigabyte's boards have an option to change between "voltage" or "pwm" to avoid this issue, so maybe it's a limitation of the nuvoton chip.
