    no, its not true...impossible. Maybe only new revision old names with new AM3+ socket area. Thats all.

    oh geez now I'm confused...this Asus announcement really stumps me as I can't see how they would make new revisions of old boards just to support am3+, but that really does appear to be the only way.

    Why would they make another CHIV for 890FX and then have a 990FX coming out also. Seems kind of backwards.

    Asus and MSI are now saying it IS possible.

    I could swear there was a pin difference in sockets between the CHIV I've got recently and the first gen M4a89gtdpro-usb3 board i had. Lets hope its not just them 'special' grey sockets that support am3+ only.
