As for respawn, I've dealt with even longer wait times. I like BC2 because typical spawn times are 6-7 seconds, it paces the game. I have played COD styles where they are much, much shorter.
Call it what you want but BF2 is MORE run and gun that BF:BC2. I've got around 500 hours on BF2 and close to 200 on BF:BC2 (only because the BF2 servers are empty and COD sucks).
