    Why do they need to add a storyline? I'd rather they take BF2, add destructable environments and up the graphics.

    This cant be on preorder already?? Bit early imo.. New cod is hitting in december hopefully that lives up to the standards of a decent shooter..

    Another thing I find funny is AMD/Intel would snipe any of our Moms on a grocery run if it meant good quarterly results, and you are forever whining about what feser did?

    There are still people who want to play Betafield? How are the unfixed bugs in BFBC2 treating all of you? DICE will be DICE...
    Notice any grammar or spelling mistakes? Feel free to correct me! Thanks

    I really liked Bad Company 2 and I wonder if this is going to be a sequel.

    Either way I can't wait.

    Yeah BC2 is an excellent game and I'm sure BF3 will be too. Asking for BF2 with a fresh coat of paint shows that people have a serious lack of imagination. I certainly don't miss idiots flying around in jets being useless when I'm playing BC2 - there are enough useless helicopter pilots to fill that role.

    This should play nothing like BC2. The most similar gameplay mode to BF3 in BC2 would be conquest, but add 32 more players, make it less run and gun, and there you go. Or you could just go play BF2 and get an idea of what it'd be like.

    Good luck trying run-and-gun in BF:BC2, you'll get sniped. BF2 you could run from one end of the map to the other and get a few good kills in but with BC2 you're dead as soon as you're exposed.
    I've run and gunned in BC2 many times. Bullet physics let you do that. I just put 41 hours in since the Steam Sale, so I think I'm at the point where I can make a judgement.

    As for respawn, I've dealt with even longer wait times. I like BC2 because typical spawn times are 6-7 seconds, it paces the game. I have played COD styles where they are much, much shorter.

    BFBC2 is a run and gun

    at least i play it that way: spawn (engineer with tons of tracers expl mk2 and 6 rpg-7s + xm8 compact);run; take down helicopter; run; take down tank; another tank; kill 3-4 people in close combat (while running) - die because i'm out of ammo

    good for tons of ace pins and combat excellence pins

    every now and then i take a chopper to kill 1-2 tanks or force their crew to exit the tank; kill the crew after crash landing the chopper and repair / steal their tank

    BFBC2 is pretty boring because it's so easy to dominate and doesn't take much skill; if you're careful and a steady aim you can stay in a tank for at least 15 minutes without taking any serious damage (hit and run)

    Whatever makes you happy I played BF2 for one or two years just to be completely annoyed by the bugs and realise that every time DICE fixes a bug, they implement new ones.

    I never had this feeling with CoD1, CoD2 or CoD:MW1. I dunno about the other games because 1) I don't care about Treyarch's games 2) the MP of MW2 killed the CoD series.

    Well, I guess DICE is just like Piranha Bytes. A game without serious bugs would not have the "flair" of these developers.

    sweet frostbite 2 engine!

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Frostbite_Engine

    The next generation of Frostbite will debut with Battlefield 3. It will take full advantage of the DirectX 11 API and 64-bit processors,[2] with no support for DirectX 9 (nor, therefore, Windows XP).[3]

    At SIGGRAPH 2010, DICE gave several presentations on advances in their rendering technology:

    * "Tile-based deferred shading acceleration" via DirectCompute.[4] This is being ported to the PlayStation 3's SPUs.
    * Morphological Anti-Aliasing (MLAA), again implemented with DirectCompute, for bandwidth conservation.[4] MLAA is currently available only to a few PlayStation 3 games such as God of War III and LittleBigPlanet 2. DICE intends to bring this feature to DirectX 11 GPUs.
    * Quasi-realtime radiosity.[5]
    * Improved environment destruction.[6]

    jets useless? you couldn't be further from the truth

    i'd rather not play with jets, but because they rape everything.

    I don't miss them at all. They were overpowered.
    If jets are back I really hope DICE to give infrantry some portable anti-air missiles or something.

    looks like the cover designer from bc2 just finetuned his samples from bc2 and reused them for bf3

    however, i think crysis and mirror's edge already used radiosity (prerendered, not real-time though in mirror's edge's case, dunno about crysis), so it's not THAT new.

    it's funny though - do you guys remember the nvidia techdemo mad mod mike for the gf 7000 series? they showcased radiosity in that already. and that's like half a decade ago
