    Exactly. If you are the kind of person that looks at power usage when buying a video card, then both the GTX590 and the ATI 6990 aren't for you. Both I would think will be at or over the 300Watt limit.
    If I was buying these cards, I would if anything, the more power it consumes the better with some rationality. Basically the more power these things consume, the closer these things will be to original spec. A 300 watt limit is going to castrate AMD just as much Nvidia, as the gtx 570 have similar performance and power usage.

    I agree. I would like to see both using fully clocked high end chips. That would really heat things up in more than one way.
    If they did, then these card should be superb performers. Here's hoping.
