    Continuing Madness

About two years back I did a worklog for my murderMod Jr. It was time for serious maintenance and I decided to do some upgrading while tearing everything down. As usual, my desire to keep it simple is not going to work.
    I intended to just replace the two 285's with two 580's and the coolers. That lasted all of 24 hours. I will now be replacing my MB, CPU, CPU block, VC's, VC blocks and the Aquaero. I am going with the following;

    Asus RIII E
    i7 980X
    Aqua Cuplex Kryos HF
    2 evga GTX 580's
    2 EK Nickel blocks
12 GB Corsair Dominator GT 2000
New Aquaero & Aqua Power Adjust-I would appreciate any feed back on the PA
Repacing the blue tubing with red tubing-the MB is red & black
I cannot find any reason to replace my Feser Quad Rad

I will be using my existing TJ07 case because I cannot find anything I like better and the M|M gear is just too cool! Here is a pic during the original build.

I have a few outrageous ideas ideas regarding the new sleeving, but I may keep it simple?
Any thoughts, ideas or suggestions will be appreciated.

What kind of ideas do you have for the sleeving?

Personally, I would just do some general maintenance now and wait for the x58 replacement to come around this time next year. Just my opinion though.

Subb'd! .. For sleeving maby something like this? Exact theme im using..

Another thing I find funny is AMD/Intel would snipe any of our Moms on a grocery run if it meant good quarterly results, and you are forever whining about what feser did?

Anxious to see how this turns out. Revitalisation of an already beautiful build should make it even more epic!

Was a silent admirer before your absence and it's good to see you again, Rocky.

You've made the blue-themed R2E pretty and I'm sure you'll make the red themed build using the R3E just as nice. I'll be looking forward to updates.

Cheers and welcome back, me hearty!

Recently read through that build, loved the amount of time and work (and finger skin :P) you put into it!
Cannot wait to see what you can do this time

Ah I can see the confusion. R3G should be an awesome little motherboard, recently bought a R2G, pretty excited about it.

    A few goodies arrived today....

    Love this block!

And a mood shot for Shazza!

My red tubing arrived but I do not like the color under the light. I want a true deep red, any suggestions?

What brand of tubing did you get? Primochill usually is nice.
Signatures make my posts look huge... but I'm not humble enough to completely remove my signature, so I kept this note explaining it.

Danger Den, that is what I used in my last build. I will check out the Primochill. Then again I may just go with clear and some red dye?
    Thanks for the tip.

I use Primochill too, I love it! I have some of their red and it's actually more of an orange than deep red though. I wasn't happy with it when I was doing my original red/black build.

What size are you planning on doing? I have 10 ft of 1/2" ID 3/4" OD in my office that I'm not using.

Looking forward to see how you tackle this! I too am completely gutting and re-doing my tj07. I initially built it as my first WC project last year about this time. I'll be starting a new worklog for the build.

Going to be making a huge order with DualBrain here in about a week. Damn exchange rate is killing me though. I'll be doing my cables myself, I figure, it will be good therapy for my shoulder (surgery this week for a rotator cuff tear).

I'm a big fan of your work and will be following closely
Actually, sleeving is relaxing but it is also very time consuming. Sorry to hear about your shoulder.

I use 3/8 ID x 5/8 OD. I didn't like the color either so I am going clear, white and black.

The Good, The Not So Bad and Two Uglies!

I started the breakdown of the old rig today and since it was rather nice outside, I set up shop on the patio.

    I started with this....

    I ended with this...

However, here are some pics of the process...

I was very happy to see the Aqua HD look this good after two years!

    My homemade "quick dissconnects"

Some of the carnage...and my fingerprints are all over it!

    Now for the UGLY

I took both blocks apart and the plating is completely gone in some spots with nothing but copper exposed. This is bizzare to me as I use demineralized H20! Maybe Eddie will chime in? I hope he does because I have two Nickel blocks for the 580's!

    It was dusty down here....

Now, I have a decision to make...........

Two pumps or two Rads, that is the question! I am currently leaning towards two pumps. The Feser has never been stressed and I prefer redundancy.

Speaking of the Feser, I washed it out with boiling H20 twice and it was totally clean. I know that some people don't care for Feser, but the Rad has served me well and it will be "sticking" around!

Much more tomorrow. In the mean time, I have a few threads to start in the FS forum! It could be a "blow out sale."

    Cheers!

Hmm I see three AC boxes, however I only see one block. What do you have up your sleeve?

    Kirk,

Nice eye! Those boxes contain the Power Adjust and the High Flow Sensor and the fourth box, not shown, contains the new Aquaero.
    Thanks for looking in!
