1.) How reliable the flash is. Most who have flashed here on XS have reported ATi tool gives artifacts(even though games don't, it's a sign), and flopper gets artifacts any time he enters 3d mode with his. It's definitely not sure-fire, but the results do look like a high percentage.
2.) We don't know if it'll only be the first batch, or if all shipments will remain that way. Could be like the GTX 465, where only certain batches unlock, or it could be like the old ATi 9500, where only certain PCB layouts unlock(and right now all seem to be that layout).
Add this to the fact that I HEAVILY doubt we'll see a bios for the 1gb 6950 to unlock(there are no plans for a 1gb 6970 at this time), and you'd realize that unless we see a price drop of the 2gb 6950 then they won't be on competing price levels anyway. I doubt they'd charge more than $249 for the GTX560(possibly even lower), which is lower than the estimated 6950 1gb price level. A non-unlockable 1gb 6950 isn't very likely to beat this thing.
