    Don't be surprised.

For resolution over 1080p, for exemple 2560X1600, 6970 Crossfire or Tri-Fire will get ahead of 580 SLi or Tri-SLi with next gen graphic intensives games. It's already ahead in some of the most graphic intense games out today!

    And this with early drivers!

Sadly, for lower resolution, the 580/570 SLI are better choices for now... We will see after a couple of new drivers from AMD if it stays like this at lower resolutions... But for 30'' LCD and higher resolutions, a 6970 Crossfire/Tri set-up is a better choice for the upcoming games.

For 2560X1600 or multiple screen set-up, then the 6970 Crossfire/Tri-Fire will get ahead with upcoming drivers. The 2Gb of memory WILL make a difference.

It's really impressive. For 300$ less (2X140-150$), at 2560X1600, a 6970 Crossfire is on par, and often BETTER today then 580 SLI. Impressive...

And I don't care for 1980X1200 and lower resolutions. Top of the line cards are for 2560X1600 with high AA levels, and/or multiple screens set-up. And there, the 580 SLi set-up is a joke for the price right now. IMHO.
