Would you really need 2100 RAM speeds for this type of clock or 1600 will do?

Awesome, guess the multiplier limit is just a BIOS bug.

Can you post the EXACT model of the Intel mobo, please ? Going from Asus p867-EVO to Intel mobo just gave you 400 mhz extra with the same CPU, this is disturbing to me... The Asus p8P67-EVO has 16+2 phases (18) , how many phases does the Intel mobo have (just count the black squares around the CPU socket, they usually have some sort of heat-sink on them) ?

wooops lol, i dunno we can trade if you want

my i7 experiences have been great so far, I have seen a stock 2.8ghz i5 760 match my 3.8ghz Q6600 while playing supreme commander in game simulation speed. thats huge... SB will be a dream, I might finally be able to play a game on a 20x20 map loaded with 7 AI without lag... drool even more if new BIOS means 5GHZ is reality...

The Asus uses UEFI. Intel probably is using the regular BIOS ? This makes you wonder if the BIOS is better for CPU support ?

Yeah. That reinforces what Anand said, 2500K = 52x. So the 2600K is likely to be = 57x.

wow sub 7 scores on air, thats intense.. Seems to easy if you ask me :P, Try running your ram @ 2000+ and post some everest cache & memory benchmark pleaseeeeeeeeeeee

Another thing I find funny is AMD/Intel would snipe any of our Moms on a grocery run if it meant good quarterly results, and you are forever whining about what feser did?

Besides the clocks in overclocking, I am not really impressed. There was way more change with Nehalem in regards to performance. I can see bulldozer being faster than this as the bar isn't that crazy high if this is it. The best improvement appears to be the power consumption but I don't car for that at all. I guess this is a improvement for those that want to stay with intel Integrated graphics, but that's it. I think desktop SB isn't really that good, I can see this being good in a laptop though.

well for some of us power consumption is a big deal. to get this kind of performance increase is good but at the same time getting this level of power savings is great

Way too early to tell IMO. It's a month before official launch and a lot can be done in that time and within the months after launch in terms of BIOS makers finding new ways to push these chips
