I use DisplayPort for blu-ray playback which Nvidia cards do not even support. My monitor came with a nice long DisplayPort cable. The price for a long HDMI cable is crazy. Sure the 580GTX is nice, but lack of DisplayPort and 2GB of vram are holding me back.
