Cool EK FC 580GTX water block for the newest GF110 monster core

    Dear XS users,

Most of the XS community knows me as an extreme overclocker, some of you might even know me as an extreme phase change cooling builder. Well, I've been working for EKWB since the beginning of November and I would like to show you our newest product - the full-cover graphics card water block EK FC 580 GTX.

I have also done some preliminary testing on this particular water block. System specifications are provided below:

    System:
    Intel Core i7 970 CPU
    ASUS Rampage III Extreme
    3x2GB Exceleram Red Culvert (E30104A)
    320GB Samsung Spinpoint F3
    750W Seventeam V-Force PSU
    Cooler Master Lab Test Bench
    CPU cooling: 2-stage D.I.Y. cascade cooling (R-507/R-1150)

    Cooling GPU:
    - EK FC 580 GTX water block
    - EK Coolstream RAD XT 360 (3x 120mm rad)
    - 1x 120x25mm 2000rpm fan cooling the radiator
    - Swiftech D5 Vario pump + EK-D5 X-TOP
    - 12mm (1/2") ID tubing
    - temperature measurement tool: Greisinger GTH 175/Pt, calibrated

    Results:
    - GPU: 940MHz, 1.125V (Vdroops to ~ 1.1V in load)
    - MEM: 1152MHz
    - Water temperature @ full load: oscilating @ 34.5-34.6°C

We still have some minor flaws to attend to but that should take us more than a day! If you have any questions regarding this product don't hesitate to contact me!

    Best Regards,
    Niko

You mean using "/GTX580OCP"? No, I haven't thought of using that.

tiborrr: can you tell why there is mentioned (with bold at that) only one 120mm fan for gpu cooling? Is it one fan in addition to three ones on 3x120 section rad, or only one fan on that rad?
Though somehow i don't get both cases. - Why use big rad with only one fan, or where is need to blow extra air on watercooled gpu, where full cover cools also VRMs and mem, instead of core only like universal GPU waterblocks do.

Precisely. Only one fan because I wanted to run a warm water test.

I have added system pictures in the first post as promised.

@Manicdan: I don't know about the frames in Furmark, but I know 3DMark numbers. These are not so bad I think:

(same working conditions as stated above)

    Best Regards,
    N.

sorry i dont mean to be tough, just making sure theres no weird anomalies.

if somehow the furmark run was throttling, then the temps we saw could be much lower than an ingame experience. and vantage does a decent job of heating up those gpus.

Power throttling can be disabled for 580. Rises power usage .. noticeably.

Yes, backplates will come in nickel plate version as well as in regular black. Backplates will be widely available in two weeks while the actual EK-FC580 GTX waterblock will start shipping in the beginning of the next week.

Hi tiborrr, I've picked up one of these blocks but I've heard of a few people having issues with compression fittings (BP in particular) not working on the top plugs (PCB clearence issue?). Are you guys aware of any such problem? I don't want to tear things appart before having the appropriate fittings at my disposal.

You can use it. you have to use an extender piece. That's what I used on my ek 580gtx block. Same tubing size. 1/2 x 3/4
