If they admitted that AM3+ would be compatible with Komodo it would be to easy to apply the C2012 specs on AM3+, and thus predict some of the surprises with AM3+ that is responsible for the scraped compatibility with AM3.
C2012 is a server architecture, don't try to make client comparisons from that.

The original architecture were all hammers (i.e. jackhammer, sledgehammer, etc.)
These new cores are all heavy equipment (bulldozer, bobcat, etc.)
