    Lol you guys fed a 50 page thread with conclusions based solely on misinformation ATi themselves might be leaking.

    I will not make any conclusion except I don't like the way they named their series. We were all kind of used to *870 being higher mainstream
    thing to get. Reintroducing Pro/XT/whatever schemes is not necessary nor welcome imho.

    So, based on these rumors we have atm, if you skipped 5870, but you want it's successor, that would be 6890?
    Pardon me, I suppose this was answered many times, but I don't have the time nor will to go through 50 pages of speculations

    EDIT: There I go, answered

    See, it is even worse. Yeah, that's it. I made my guess based on common
    sense and past experiences, but there is apparently lack of any in this.

    Yeah but it's different when all the options are there, you were just guessing, but if the plan goes through you'll at least see all the numbers, and any review you read will have the following info.

    6990 = x2
    6970 = 5870 replacement
    6950 = 5850 replacement
    6870 = 5770 replacement
    6850 = 5750 replacement

    you are so naive...do you think ATI is doing this cause it's smart or logical or do you think they're doing it to trick ppl into thinking a card is better than it actually is? They're turning into Nvidia...

    so so naive. I'm sure you're the type that would lick a man's balls too as long as he's rich and owns a company.

    Your mom must be so proud

    PS. 6870 > 5870 OH WAIT IT'S JUST A 5770!

    "rename"

    I don't think the word means what some of you think it means. To "re" something, it has had to named before. What was Barts named before, in terms of consumer product? Nothing. To name something different from what you expect it to be named is not renaming.

    And to compared this with putting a new sticker on an old product to sell as new. That's beyond ridiculous.
