Martin: well, at least it's known that Vario can be moded for rpm tach monitoring D5 basic alike (i never could understand why Laing decided to skimp that feature in higher priced pump)
Also .. maybe it's worth to contact laing? I'm guessing that it was laing that decided to add pwmness to DDC lineup, so maybe there will be DDC 3.2X pumps by other vendors in future with stock top?
