anybody experienced constant cold boot issues with this board and been able to solve it?

GMX - i have cold boot issues - it turns on, then off, then on and stays on!! it's done that since ive had it!! even on stock clocks!
anyone give me guildlines as to what are safe voltages for vFSB and vNB on this mobo??? i'm running a quad - w/ 1.28vNB and 1.28vFSB but want to go further than 4.3Ghz - its stock air cooled BTW
You'll probably have to water-cool your CPU for stable operation over 4.3GHz.

Question : Why do some overclockers switch into d*ckmode when money is involved
Remark : They call me Pro AsusSaaya yupp, I agree

I'm having issues in gaming with my system currently?
What should I change? I get video issues with my ATI 4850 and now my GTX 460
It will go blank and crash out of the game. It's not the video card driver or the video cards, all cards are doing it for me. I have test 4 different cards.
I have a E8500 with A C0 @ 4ghz
I have a nice water custom system with 3x E fans and a 3x Swift Rad and a Swift block. I just changed the water MCP655 Liquid
My teams never go over 45 c and idle about 30ish
I'm trying to push around 4.0ghz or 4.2 stable? What should I change?
I have a P5QE
With DDR 2 PC 8500

it's prolly your motherboard. I had to RMA 3 P45s till now , all with erratic PCI-E behaviour. All 3 boards were rock stable in 2D, but in 3D I got artifacts, lockups,etc... tried swapping CPIU's , RAMS, PSU's and GPU... it were the boards![]()

oh great, Looks like a i7 is in my near by future. IT does only happen in 3d games when I come to think about it
I'm going to go to stock settings on my CPU to make sure today
Change PSU.

I have a antec 650 neo power. I love it, I wouldn't change it
That sounds like PSU problem, try some other PSU, just to make sure...

It could even be the video cable. I had one where a 'color' would go out. Bad pin on the connector.
Might try putting the PCIE freq to 99.
Try PCIE Spread Spectrum to ON.
Do those two at different times to see if any of them might help. That would truly suck if it's the MB.

^^ Will do
Think changing the PCIE slot would help
I'm stable, but in games I get that issue
Even at stock Clocks.
I'll give that a shot today thanks tho![]()
WOW!
Slightly behind the curve here - but what a great motherboards & what a great thread.
This threads been like a time machine! Its enabled me to relive the experiences of the early P5Q deluxe pioneers as it happened. I am up to thread page 40ish and loving it!
Currently I am happy with my QX6850 sitting at 3.6 (400*9) and corsair dominator CM2X2048-8500C5D (2*2g kit). PL - 7. What can i say rock solid. I've seen my memory benchs move up considerably in Everest.
I did boot at 3.9Mhz. Even got all the way into world of warcraft before BSOD. I am not too sure I can get 4.0Mhz without a cooler upgrade - Zalman 9700 atm -so maybe low end H2O in needed. Vcore is at 1.35 with LLU lowest I can go, benchs folds and primes fine. Load can touch 70 but around high 60s in Prime. Forget OCCT Linpack.
Only thing that threw me was defaulting to PL-5 in bios for manual. That took a few goes to iron out.
Is there a Bios other than the Asus 2201 that I should use? seems kinda old but it really works for me?
There's 2301 bios.

I'm still having issues with crashes but more in fallout 3, SC 2 is just doing suttering but I will still get the colors going strange, I know it's not the gtx 460 I leave it stock and put the fan at %100
I'm thinking it's the board. When I get some cash i7 is in my future.
i'm cpu and gpu liquid cooled - i'm already @ 4.3Ghz - i just wanted to know "safe" voltages for my mobo - which is stock air cooled. vFSB @ 1.3v now and vNB @ 1.28v. - how much can i raise them safely?
yeah!! it's only at 1st boot - if i turned it off then later on (without unplugging it) turned it back on again it would be fine.
what am i supposed to change to make it work properly on 1st boot? you mean DRAM straps? as i've used pretty much all of them 5:6 and 1:1 i use the most and it does it with both of them.
