Yeah, that goes for me too. One bad psu has set my build back some two to three months now. I've just now received my third psu (yes THIRD) Keep it going Xion and i'll always be watching.

Just a word to say don't give up. I'm not sure what your situation is, but I know from experience that it is easy to get burned out on a build when you really immerse yourself in it. I decided with my current build that I was going to pace myself as I worked so feverishly on the last one that I wanted to quit while I was in the middle of it. I'm still working on this one for varying time periods about 5 days during the week, but whenever I get it done, I get it done. It will probably mean that I'll be plunking away on mine for a few more months, but so what. I have determined that I'm going to enjoy the process this time.

Don't give up!

Geez, guys. I'm so sorry so much time has gone by without any updates. A lot has happened in my life in the past 6 months, and I feel that I'm a better person because of it.

A confession.

For reasons I've yet to discover, I encounter these 'stages' in life where I become completely obsessed with something for a period of about 6 months and then, often, become burned out on it and end up almost disliking it in the end. And that's sort of what's happened with refleXion--as much as I hate to say it. In fact, I told my good friend Mark, who helped me with the side panel design, that it was a key reason that I pushed myself so hard day after day. I was concerned that if I ever did take a breather that I may never get back to it.

But..

As I look back through this thread, at all the awesome support that I have received from so many, including a batch of very skilled modders whom I very much respect, and at work I've done that I can finally see through a set of eyes not nearly as critical as before, I'm fully satisfied with what's been done thus far. And that's important, because I couldn't do that before. I was never satisfied with anything, and that's one of the reasons (along with financial concerns) that I held off on finishing refleXion. It became a burden instead of fun, because I was so critical of myself and in refining every little thing and making it perfect. It's in my nature to be this way as I am a perfectionist. But I just let it get the best of me and sap all the fun out of this. I acted in the one way you cannot act. The wonders of the imagination and of creativity do not work as well through a magnifying glass.

I feel bad for my fans and my sponsors that refleXion isn't finished yet. But most of all, I feel bad because I still believe in refleXion and the original vision that I had for it that has carried through to this point. I don't want to see it left unfinished. My fans, my sponsors, refleXion.. deserves better.

I have an ache in my gut that I haven't had in about 4-5 months that's telling me it's time to get back to work on refleXion. I have some free time this weekend, and that's what I plan to do. Thanks so much to those of you who continue to offer your kind words of support. I can't promise you that refleXion will be finished next week, next month, or even by the end of the year. I'm tired of putting a timeline out there that continues to be passed by. I'm just going to focus on having fun with refleXion again, because that's the reason that I began it in the first place. Everything else will fall into place.

Xion, can understand you in that feeling, I think anybody who has so much passion in the beginning and for some reason was stopped by any circumstances has it. But you have to find the powers to finish it no matter how to do that - rereading your thread or looking at others beautifull creations, that's the way to go!
You can be sure I am supporting you on this and really looking forward to see refleXion up and running!

As long as you enjoy what you're doing Xion, that's the most important think. If you think it's best to take a break sometimes, go ahead. We might be a bit upset, but as long as you're having fun, we know you'll return eventually .

Glad to hear you havent lost all interest in the project, really looking forward to seeing the finished product, I own a cosmos S case myself and have just started some modding. I can relate to some of this. On my Zenith mod, I got to the point that I was tired of working on it. I worked so feverishly that I had to push myself to get finished. With my current Quintessence mod, I'm just wishing I was further along than I am. I simply haven't had much time to work on it lately. But at least I am enjoying the journey much more this time. As I mentioned before, I determined to take this mod at a much more measured pace, and I have to say that all in all it has worked. I look forward to working on it instead of dreading it.

Now if I could just say the same thing for my unfinished porch that I need to finish rebuilding...

Hey Xion,

You don't know me but I've been reading through this thread over the last 4 days, and read most of what's been posted. What you've accomplished is fantastic. Not many people would have the patience to do half of what you've done let alone all of it. Even if for any reason you never finished it, you can seriously hold your head up and be proud. I'll never be a modder, I don't possess the knowledge or requisite skills for such a mammoth task as your brave endeavour. But what you've done is inspire me to maybe try a few smallish mods of my own, like just attempting sleeving for instance. Or even getting a basic theme going in my modest pc like simply changing all my fans to one colour and brand instead of the rainbow colour scheme (or 'kids crayon' book ) I have.

I would say take your time. Although everyone here including myself are really looking forward to seeing the end result, don't put yourself under pressure (maybe you do, maybe you don't, I'm not sure) to keep updates coming just to keep people happy, because perhaps that contributed to you burning yourself out and not enjoying the ride as much? Only work on the project when you're inspired because then the magic will happen again for you. Good luck man and remember, always HAVE FUN with Reflexion

I too have this same issue. That is why I always try to do the work as fast as possible. So I don't get burned out on it. This is the reason my CNC router is still not done after 2 years.

I hope you get your drive back and finish what looks to be an amazing build.

This really deserves to come to fruition...I read the whole thread and things were really moving along and looking good until some months ago. I'm kinda disappointed now. From what I understand, a lack of confidence or interest has stalled this project.
I know what the "obsession for 6 months" thing is like, I'm a creative professional and sometimes I really get into the work I'm doing for a while and love working on it, then I suddenly lose interest or start to dislike it the more I have to deal with it. Some days I love the stuff I've made, and other days I see nothing but flaws and amateur mistakes, I can't really explain the mental states necessary for the love/hate, it just happens.
You can love the work again, give it a shot, it may not come immediately, but you can find the energy to finish what you started if you keep trying.
Do it for yourself, for us, and for your sponsors.

Unfortunately, sometimes our ambitions can be higher than our physical limits and or RL commitments will allow. This was a beautiful build, which I and many others had followed from the beginning. We know that some awesome ideas were realised from this build and I don't think anyone can regret the state that this work log is in now. No matter where this build finished, the epicycle of this build was just to great to be "done". It was a fun journey for everyone involved. The proof is that people are still reading and being exposed to this work log. Hats off to Xion for that

I will level one criticism though regarding this build. To me, if you are going to solicit and accept sponsors, you are obligating yourself to complete the build at hand and give them the PR that they've earned by giving you stuff. There are a lot of people that would like to receive sponsors, but aren't able to find the sponsorship. I think this reflects negatively on the modding community for companies that sponsor builds, and hurts others who would appreciate having sponsors. Xion hasn't even posted at all on XS in over 4 months. Its not like he or any other modder really owes anyone anything, but if you solicit and accept sponsors, then I feel you do owe it to them to highlight what they've given you and finish what you start.

To me, the effort put into this outstanding mod is wasted if nothing ends up getting completed.
