im not sure what to do exactly.... thing is i got home and tested everything and everything works for me in console launcher, equaliser, eax effects, cmss 3d, crystilizer... i tryed to make a movie but fraps does not take "speaker" output for recording sound, so you get sound without effects. I just installed 6620 over 6600, ill do clear reinstall of OS during weekend and see if that makes some problems for me.

on another note: asus released x-fi mb 2 software (thx trustudio, eax 5.0) for gene III mobos, sadly there still isnt soundmax drivers compatible with it, so it doesnt work... but i got few apps from it that are working with x-fi mb v1 so you have package v8 on ftp.

PS: maybe issue that effects is not working is simple like reinstalling everything from soundmax x-fi:
1. remove software & drivers, then reboot
2. let default windows driver install and clean up creative stuff like directory from programdata/creative, because CADI (libary that links drivers to software) leaves some settings and ofc everything you find from creative in programfiles (and programfiles x86) and in common files
3. reinstall

but again im not sure why are this wierd issues (oh well i guess because its not officaly meant to work in first place)

If it works for you it should work for us too so I'm going to try to reinstall the software and driver. I'm going to try with removing everything from Creative and see how it goes.

i ve already done it yesterday but with no sucess.

In my system when I move my vga into the second pci-e, stability is worse.

im starting to suspect that for strange instability as in settings i had almost 8 hrs prime stable i get freezes randomly after 5 minutes, or get freeze after 10-20 minutes cod2 which didnt happen b4 when vga was on upper slot.

I think I know what the problem is.

I don't think that the driver updates to version 6620 because if you want to update the driver to version 6620 it asks if you want to reinstall the driver so what happens is if you update it from version 6600 (with the Creative software full working) there's no problem but if you update the driver from the default Windows 7 driver it doesn't work because the driver doesn't update to version 6620 although if you look it says that it's using version 6620.

Updating from version 6600 to 6620 didn't fix it so I'm going back to version 6600.

Was with 6610 and i think i am ok with 6620. At least 5.1 channel and equalizer works. No EAX playing though. Will test tonight i guess

No idea why some have problmes... only other thing i can think of is (outside "random" effect) im having lots of hotfixes installed and maybe some hotfix fixes something that makes drivers work. _only_ difference betweek 6600 drivers and 6620 drivers is few strings changed in .inf file (driver versions, dates... nothing that could break functionality), new (v6620) adihdaud.sys and updated ms certificate file (smx.cat), because .sys files needs to be signed to be accepted in x64 OS. If anyone wants i can also reupload 6600 version.

If i remember well, the problem is occurring when just updating the soundmax drivers with SoLoR package to 6600 also.
Read some posts earlier in the thread.
You need to uninstall everything, clear any folders/registry and reboot.
Let MS install the default drivers.
And then reboot again and install 1,2,3.
Also you need to disable antivirus for the device ids generator (part 3).
So, since my equalizer is working and the 5.1 channel output i am ok.
Drivers are ok. Something else is happening, wrong update / installation?

tried again by uninstalling and carefully cleaning all files, but no luck, uninstalled the 6620, reboot, ms install, install 6600, and everything in control panel works :S

It's very strange. Everything works fine with the 6600 driver but not with 6620. Don't know why but my Windows 7 doesn't see driver 6620 as a new driver and asks me if I want to reinstall it.

after getting 6600 driver to work, i had the "idiot" idea to not uninstall them , but install-overwrite-upgrade the 6620 drivers and voila... everything keeps working, driver seems to be upgraded indeed and dpc latency reports no spikes

one minor problem exist (not driver's fault though) alchemy somehow-somewhere keeps the game additions and i have to re add the games with different name each time i uninstall the creative software.. i tried to trace where keeps theses tables.. i didnt find :S

not sure... its ~2 weeks+ since i installed them with upgrade/reinstall option (dont remember what i got). It should be like papatsonis got i guess

i double checked, 6620 uploaded includes everything from original intel drivers except some not needed stuff is removed (sonicfocus effects, soundmax control panel), some added (x-fi effects) and changed .inf and platform cfg file to reflect rampage formula sound hwid.

also if papatsonis is saying they need to be upgraded, i dont like this and ill try to fix it during weekend when ill reinstall my windows.

there might be issue that "installer" broke something and it thinks 6620 are installed (even if they are not) and you dont get upgrade option because of it.

You shouldn't have to do that. The game should be listed in "Installed games" on the left side and you should only have to select it and than click on >> to move it to the "ALchemy-compatible games".

It's strange that it doesn't work with the setup but I could fix it with updating the driver from the Device Manager and browse to the folder with the extracted driver files.

my problem is other though... the m/b for some strange reason.. has totaly lost stability at the settings i posted the almost 8hrs prime above..

Call Of Duty 2 is included to the ALchemy database so you shouldn't have to add it using the game path.


Check the DRAM Clock Fine Delays with EVEREST. It's the first thing I do when changing some settings.

It's very important to always have the same DRAM Clock Fine Delays if you run with low NB Voltage and using 4 X 2 GB memory sticks doesn't make it easier.

I need a 1T difference between the two memory sticks and that's only possible if I use slots A1 and B1. Slots A2 and B2 aren't always the same and sometimes they don't have the 1T difference.


This is the reason why we should have skew adjustment for every channel in the BIOS.

I can make 1t relatively easily, the previous weekend i tried almost half the combinations of dram clock skews a/b trying to find out a "behaviour pattern" with no sucess though :S, i have 1t diff with 200ps A, 100ps B delays (and some others which need to look the "papers" :P) but i have seen no obvious gains from auto (auto is always 0ps diff form channel to chanel, usually 50-100ps for each at least in my case)

I just successfully got the 6620 drivers to work. To do it you have to upgrade from the 6600 drivers to the 6620 drivers like previosly posted, you should get a screen when you run the setup for the 6620 driver saying do you want to update\reinstall or uninstall, you click update and it should be fine.

god jesus... no license generator is there just for fun... like keys for windows/games are there just for fun as well and you dont need them to make product WORK.... i mean seriously... how can you think something will work without LICENSE files, if i specificaly put license generator there? Do you think i put it there just because i dont have anything else to do with my time and i like upload useless files? or maybe you just dont trust in to license generator that is taged as virus (even tho it does absolutly nothing unless you have delphi installed, check the f google if you dont belive me). If its last thing i can potentialy understand, however i still cant undestand how you even consider package will just miricaly work without license files...

where did i say that? i know i said you can SAVE them once you generate them first time and then next time you just copy them, but you still need to generate them at least once and this MUST be on PC you intend to use pack on, because they are linked to MAC address.
